Feb edition of Evo

Post by toyneg » Fri Dec 27, 2013 11:25 am

Hi guys, I've just received my Evo mag through the post and there's a 6 page article comparing 3 generations of the RS4 Avant. Check it out - I think we all know which is Evo's favourite ;)
Glacier White 2017 S3 Saloon with all the Tech.
Gone but not forgotten - B7 RS4 Saloon Black - H&R spacers, Tints, Gun Metal Alloys, MRC Stage 2, Pre Cats, Milltek Non Res, K/W Springs, MRC Full Carbon clean - 431ps

Oh yeah, Audi UK MK14 5AN on the plates

Why did Audi ask the forum to provide a car for Goodwood then? (Blakeys iirc) Not just use this one?

I've just read it.. It's a bit wordy for my liking, in short they think the B5 has aged well - 4*s

The B7 is the best drivers car and still "great" - 5*s

And the B8 is a good car but not great - 3.5*s

I'd you want to read it and have an iPhone. Download the evo app and start a free trial

Personally I think it's a bit harsh on the B8 but then it's still only 1 guys opinion.

I think I agree with Evo - the B8 just doesn't do it for me, I love the B7 and don't intend to ever sell mine, but if I had the space would love a B5 as well just for a "fun day" car.

-pretty good write-up. Similar findings to Chris Harris [video]

Agree totally about the B8 ~ I spent a couple of days with one and it doesn't do it for me.

The B7 is just 'right'. Very hard to see what I'll replace it with...

? :beerchug:

Same dilemma for me. I'm not ready to change mine yet, but I don't know what I'd get in any case. The B8 looks good, but although I've not driven one yet, it's had fairly poor press reviews overall. Th RS6 is way out of my price barker and will be for a few years to come, and it's also a bit big. Might even be tempted back to BMW
