But you're not one to defend such actions, nor raise concern about what other people think. However, the most important thing is; you've done it a load of times and not had a catastrophic tyre failure because you're not one to stretch the fcuk out of your tyres...

Without wanting to enter into the 'is it stupid to do or not' debate, why would you do it as it doesn't represent top speed, it just tells you at what point your top gear hits it's rev limiter, which you can tell with a calculator anyway ?

Yup, like seeing how fast you can go in reverse. What difference does it make? None, just funny when one does it.
Why sit on your hand before tugging one off? It's obviously your hand still doing the work.

You answered your own question as to why I done it G (gearing limitations) Yes bam your right I've never stretched tyres and never will I was merely curious as to why people were saying its a stupid thing to do on a dyno. There was an added bonus of my car shooting flames which was pretty cool and totally not why I asked for the process to be repeated..............

Because there's an increase risk of failure. If there were no risks and there was something useful to gain from it, then everyone would be doing it.

I just don't see the point - be just the same as putting the car on axle stands an flooring in top gear.
Some dynos have quite low max speeds - certainly one I have used before ages back wouldn't have liked 238 mph as shown in the clip.

The sparks were from the wire in the tyre remnants. No alloy wheels were hurt in this production. Bam I'm starting to see a trend in that if you take a defense on a position in an argument where you have the opposite point of view then automatically the other person has lost at internetz(z was on purpose)because any stance in the opposite means they have lost their temper. I'm not butthurt about any off the comments raised in this discussion as A. It's not my car and B. It's just the internets way of proving that everyone is an authority on everything.

Ps. I've got a cracking pm from an essex 'lad' who proper lost the plot if you want to see proper butthurtedness (yes, I just made that word up).
