Hi,
I'm just up the road in Falkirk with a standard 54' Muegello Blue C5 RS6. Mine too is on Audi repaired DRC, got 74k on the clock. Similar 'clunkiness' from potholes. Drove first few months with the radio off and ear to the window. 3000 miles later I think it' all OK! Not sure about the your gearbox issues though.
Mine has seemed a bit reluctant to switch from 2nd to 3rd when cold....this seems to be a common issue. Hoping this isn't the early signs of a gearbox rebuild coming on. Off for major service, timing belt change etc this week. Nervous :)

Alright chief,
Does your car still have the clunkying noises? Has it got any worse in the last 3k miles? I'm guessing it does as will only get worse. I'm needing to get a spin in a car with sorted DRC to see what it sounds like, i'm intrigued now to see if' it's nice smooth going over bumps or does it still sound a bit harsh. I got a quote from motorsportworld for B8 Blistein shocks for an A6 4.2 quattro avant for 540 delivered so not too bad i guess if thats the way i've got to go. I still want to pursue getting my DRC recharged before making any decisions though. Theres a lad through in Ayrshire with a home made recharging unit so hoping he's going to get in touch at some point as left him a message. Don't suppose any closer has attempted to recharge the DRC. Nothing complicated by the looks of things, just need to gather the right bits and pieces.

Clunking still. Its probably time to decide. Go with a repair on the DRC or coil overs? The clunking hasn't got any worse over past 1000 miles but.. My cars in getting 75k service at moment and costs mounting daily. Interested in the home made DRC recharger idea... Let me know if you get hold of the guy. Hoping my gearbox holds out for a while longer. The 2 big hits in one year is a big one! My girlfriend thinks I'm crazy to keep taking the PAIN! But as she cries whenever I drive her about she doesn't fully appreciate the pleasure of a blast up to Glencoe. Ha ha :)

He he i know what your saying Paul, the ladies just don't get it do they, their loss!!! The rear tyres on mine are on the marker so that wont be help with the harsh ride on the back end, i'll need to find some choice soft compound tyres to see what if any difference they make. Also the lad i bought the car off had just put part worn tyres on the front before he sold it and they're not even the same brand, ones a continental and the other a goodyear i think, can't rem now of the top of my head. I just don't do that with cars, especially performance ones. I'll need to see if i can source some decent tyres at a reasonable price. January sales fast approaching so will need to keep my out for some deals. I'll certainly keep you informed of how i get on with my DRC, i wouldn't mind gathering all the bits and pieces and making my own set up. Been looking into remaps too, Revo in glasgow will do it for £520, just waiting to find out if they'll include a gearbox map for that price. Spoke with Richard at Viper and he's doing ECU and TCU maps for 450 all in, hmmm so tempted. Again i'd like to try out some different stage 1 maps to see they're difference, Viper certainly gets a good write up!!!

Alright chief, yeh there seems to be a fair few of us living round these parts with RS6's. Good idea meeting up to have a chin wag , count me in if we can arrange a suitable time over the festivities. Also, with regard to suspension talk in this thread i have decided to ditch the DRC and have ordered Koni yellow shocks. Hopefully they will show face tomorrow so i can make a start in swapping them out. Only had my car a few weeks but the clunking is doing my head in!!! One shock is leaking with the rest looking ok but only a matter of time before they fail also.
