Cheers Graeme, I'm actually booked to drive one in a fortnight. Purely for research purposes you understand....... :sekret:
Feck me. Was expecting it to be quick, but not that quick. The RS5 Cab I drove at Millbrook left me cold and confused. The RS4 left me buzzing like a toddler on crack.

Misano plus privacy glass, matt aluminium, sport pack including dynamic steering, titanium 20" rotors and sport exhaust, heated buckets, pan roof, B&O, hill hold assist and tech pack advance including adaptive cruise. Quick run through the configurator, those options alone are 8,485 before the bits I missed.

The best option of all is standard - my word that quattro diff is just bonkers! Gear selector left into manual mode and then toggled into Sport. Left the suspension in Comfort, pulled over and had a look at the MMI and put the steering into Dynamic, but didn't like it so flicked it back to Comfort on the move. I could do third second third second third second all day long without getting bored! Rode considerably better on 20s than the RS5 Cab did, but I still think 19s would do me.

Is manual mode really manual? I had a b8 S4 and, in manual, it would change up if you didn't…….does the RS4 hit the rev limiter if you don't change up in time? I drive a 981 Boxster S PDK and that was proper manual…hit limiter if you didn't change up.

Yes it really is manual, it won't change up for you, I caught the limiter once and it stuttered like a mentalist!

It'll only stutter on the limiter for a second or so, and then shifts up for you
I couldn't see any situation where you'd want it to do otherwise to be honest

I got a discount over the RRP. Speak to Steve Jackman at Amersham Audi. Nice bloke with good advice.

I thought the CD changer was only available with HD Nav, and HD Nav was only available with technology pack advanced which contains adaptive cruise?

This car has the CD changer and states 'MMI Navigation Plus' but has no adaptive cruise looking at the nose.

Is the the rotary navigation dial behind the gearstick is still the easiest way to tell? Flat for regular nav, joystick style for HD?

Ahhhhhhhhhhh that makes sense, I noticed bluetooth had disappeared off the options list recently, the config is still out of date regarding the Nav then! :audibash:

"The technology package advanced includes Satellite Navigation with MMI 3G – HDD-based. Hard disk navigation with topographical map display places of interest and town models in 3D, with high-resolution 7” colour TFT display.............."

HD Nav was a separate option to ACC as I have it as an option in mine with the CD player, but no ACC
It's standard now along with power tailgate for 14MY cars

Hadn't ever spotted HD Nav option on the config tbh. 2014 model from the traditional Aug Sept time?

No, it was earlier. Price went up to compensate, of course.

Phew, that's what let the S4 down for me as I knew it would change up so I didn't bother, making the manual mode pointless IMO. (i.e.. you aren't really in control)
