Considering Selling

Post by mc72 » Thu Nov 21, 2013 4:50 pm

Hi,

Due to lack of use (only 2 or 3 times this year) I’m considering selling my Sprint Blue RS4 saloon. I’ve attached a couple of pictures for those who may be interested or who may wish to offer some advice on a selling price.

The details of the car are that it’s a 56reg, has had 2 previous owners before me, has covered 38k miles, has Full Audi Service History. It’s had the oil cooler and associated pipes (inlet and outlet) renewed last year. The car gets washed each and every time it’s been taken out the garage so is a cherished example. I’ve had the car for 2 years and regularly read the forum posts. When I was looking for the car I joined the forum and placed a wanted ad on here. I’d like the car to go to someone from the forum if possible thus the reason for this post. I’m not desperate to sell but the lack of use is a waste of a good car.

Be interested to hear from anyone interested.

Thanks

MC72

Hi there,

Been working long hours for the last 18months and things have cropped up at the weekends that most would deal with during the week. I'm also very picky about where I park the car and also where I take it.To avoid parking dings, scratches, etc I'll park it miles away from other cars, never take it into supermarket car parks, etc. Some may find that crazy and OTT but others may understand where I'm coming from!

I should also add that the car has full buckets, with bolsters in very good (i.e not scuffed condition) and FBSW. The wheels are also in A1 condition.

guys i,m exactly the same.only had mine for 8 months and its more pampered than used as likewise i don,t like parking it just anywhere, i work within 1 mile from home and by the time i get to the garage(about 200 metres from the house in the opposite direction) shuffle in and out of the tight access i could of walked to work. thats said when i do use it god it feels special and i love it. i,m no expert on prices but would imagine with that mileage you,d be looking 22-23k?

I originally thought about selling at the start of the summer as I hadn't driven the car for a few months. I took the car out for a drive, and remembered why it was so special and decided I wasn't going to sell.

The time between these sort of drives is now longer and longer so it's making me wonder if I'd be better off selling.

Another owner here who pampers more than drives!

It would cost me a fortune if I drove it every day. Not doing so means I can afford to keep it immaculate and spend a bit on it. Plus the added bonus of keeping the novelty factor makes it all the more special.

Keep it mate, you'll only regret it. Unless you're not a 'true' petrol head :bigblink:

I've had mine a year this month, and have done more miles over this period than I originally expected to do - about 6.5k. It's going off the road for most of the winter now however; time to do a few little jobs like check the oil cooler pipes etc

I totally understand about parking, sometimes i have been round a car park about 3 times looking for a space i feel comfortable leaving it in, it's horrible isn't it, the worst is when i park right out of the way next to no one and then i come back to the car and some t**t has parked a right banger or van so close i can barely get in!

saying that I use mine everyday, i have had it 14 months and in that time have put 20k on the clock, done track days, road trips to Europe as well as the daily commute, it's been through baking heat, and full on snow. i just love it so much i look forward everyday to driving it. what a car!

Mines a daily driver and I try and enjoy it as much as possible, I dont do crazy miles each year.

Same as Toyneg, all weather. Quite enjoy taking her out in the snow too and was even up the Wicklow Mountains last year with all the other AWDs and 4x4 :)

Aint done a track day, but starting to get a massive interest in them now.... plus i think i have to do the ring!

MOT passed today with no advisories. Was thinking about somewhere around the 21k mark for the car. The Mechanic who's garage did the MOT and oil cooler and told me he'd love to have the car but can't justify the RS4, his RS2 plus the vans for the business!

I personally don't think you'll be able to do the pipes without doing the cooler. There is a material difference which makes it highly likely that when you try to disconnect/separate/unscrew the pipes from the cooler the threads will strip on one or both. The cost of the pipes was pretty steep as I got them directly from Audi.
