Won't be any slower...
There are a couple of cameras up the A6, portions of which have been improved making it a temptingly quick road, be careful!
Edit - sorry if you come cross country on the A507 you will cross but not use the A6. Low riding Audi owners just be aware of the speed bump laced road I mentioned the other day if you are approaching Millbrook from the south via the A507, I will copy and repost it later this week in case anyone missed it

Oh yes, not one for the dynamic suspension setting unless you want to test your fillings.

A bone stock B7 RS4 on regular suspension would probably be fine, but a SS or coilover equipped car and / or with a Milltek might be close! The problem being the road is very narrow and 800-1000 yards long, if you clear the first few but start catching the next ones its going to be a fecking nightmare to turn around and go back!
Only mentioning it because if someone grounds the bolts on their Milltek which pulls the centre pipes backwards off the downpipes, I'd feel pretty stupid for arriving and saying "oh yes I'm local and those speedbumps are huge, I should have said something......"

I'm thinking about the extra minutes to meet you and Sevy along the way and then some time to get breakfast at South Mimms.
If you get to swindon at 6:30, I'll just wait by the junction and give me a ring when you're approaching
M4 will be empty that time of the morning so we can keep good pace to reading services for 7, grab a coffee/cake and the other guy there, then head up on to the m25
Arrival is 9-9:30 at Millbrook, right ?
I expect audi will have a coffee and some grub on arrival (they normally do)
Are you guys not wanting to meet the others at South Mimms now? If so, they're planning to leave South Mimms by 8am so reckon we need to be there by 7:45 at the latest...earlier if you want to grab coffee & food. Google maps says it's 54 mins from Reading Services to South Mimms - it shouldn't take us quite that long but that would mean leaving Reading Services by 7am at the latest...probably a bit earlier to have a bit of contingency...?

Sevy as the time gets earlier and earlier Graeme and I were thinking of sticking to the initial plan and going straight up the M1. Still aim to meet you at 7am at Reading Services though. We can discuss when we meet you. We need to be at Milbrook by 9am.

That's fair enough Nick as you've got a much earlier start than me. It probably makes sense to go up the M1 so we're not going out of our way, but having never been through the Hatfield Tunnel myself I must admit I liked the idea of 10+ RS's blasting through there. I reckon we could just about meet the others at South Mimms and do the tunnel if we were able to leave Reading Services by 7am, provided we had a clear run. If the run didn't turn out to be clear or we were running later than planned we could just decide en route to take the M1 and meet the others at Millbrook.
Like I say you have the earlier start though so I'm happy to go with whatever you & Graeme want to do.

The South Mimms meet and tunnel blast sounds good so let's do it. Final answer. If I aim to meet Graeme at 6.10am at Swindon then if we go 85-90 we should be ok. Perhaps leave Reading 6.50am? Just hope I don't need a poo as that would kill some time.
How does this sound?
