It had not been on the rollers at all before.he said he was expecting about six hundred...hopefully he will post and let you know the full score on what and how he has had things done....

Back to what I said at the top of the page about chasing extra horses....now that the figures have been put up...
Most of the modded cars stage1/2..amd/mrc tuned (mine included)had lost power..mine was dynoed at amd a few months ago and made 434. Yesterday it made 414.5.. Is it worth all the money we spend, when you had stock motors with various mileage from early twenties to 70k getting 370 to 390..I am running stage 1 and was thinking of stage 2 but I am not going to bother as it seems all the modded cars lose some of that extra( expensive costing) power within six months.. :?
Agreed!

Mine too ran at AMD couple of months back and dynoed at 402Bhp and yesterday at 358Bhp with a stage 1 also. I must say after the carbon clean (which is being done as we speak)I think I will leave it there with the performance mods.
Ben did suspect a vacuum leak but to be fair but I hadn't noticed any difference between then and now.

Looking at some of comparisons between stock and modded (with exception of the mental supercharger) It Just proves that after all the money we throw at performance mods, there doesn't seem much more to be squeezed out of this already highly tuned n/a lump.

I will update hopefully at the end of the week with new figures after carbon clean and rectified suspected vac leak.
Gone and miss very much

Interesting comment on fuel,I also run v power most of the time but my car made 456ps at Mrc and Doug commented that it would of been 460 on BP or esso I can't remember, always thought v power was the daddy but apparently not.No disrespect but I don't think I'd still own mine if it only made around 400ps there flat and don't feel alive, you can floor em anywhere n it's just yeh yeh whatever, going from 370 ish to 460 transforms it into a decent car with a enough performance to make you have to think about applying full throttle, well done firestarter for pulling this off I'm a little gutted I couldn't make it but as PhilT knows I'm overseas most of the time.Be interesting to put mods alongside the various power outputs to gauge typical gains.

To be fair fella, you had that work done a fair while ago from memory and I would be surprised if your still getting that...only going on the rest of us...on the fuel like you I thought vpower was the best because it had the highest MON rating which suits high reving engines..

jay (skaghead )I know what you mean with the bhp for £££s all my work has been done in the last 1000 miles including a full service mine made 434.6 also think Silas has had some work done in the last week or so at mrc so no surprises we are at the top end but like you say is 40 odd more horses worth 3k .

Really good day yesterday nice to meet everyone and thanks again Louie and a m d

S4won do you think the drop off in hp is down to carbon build up only ?

Pretty sure he said he hit 436 hp at mrc last week ? Can't remember what he had done though.

I'm only up the road in wickford Jay if you ever fancy a weekend blast mate from time to time

no idea, but im a fairly logical kinda guy and I dont see how a remap or other mechanic piece of work could cause it. they are either "on" or "off" imho

being possibly controversial either:

@ the figures werent achieved in the first place / its down to variance of the RR
or
@ Its down to degradation of some kind (i.e carbon build up)
or
@ something else? something in the ECU that is limiting power, not playing ball, having a bad hair day

its certainly very strange! interesting though as others have mentioned, the B8 and R8s do make published numbers....

Has anyone ever asked Audi?

look I am no expert and a most of the stuff I post is what I have read and learnt off this forum from some knowledgable fellas...don't think its carbon only, but must be a number of things...older oil will affect output..pippyrips was the first person that had a de- coke getting on five years ago can't remember his mileage but it could not have been more than 20k..he went back to doug(mrc) after 2k and had the head off to see what it was like and it was already pretty bad...
