What time does it all kick off ? any idea how long each run takes ? may give the later people an idea of when their run will be taking place.

Hi Phil
I think the furthest north that one of the guys is travelling is from Leicestershire so unfortunately not. :(

Hi David,
The event starts at 9am prompt. I've asked Ben how long each run takes, but I reckon 4 cars an hour (just my guess)

I'll confirm once Ben comes back to me mate :biggrin3:

All
The schedule for the Dyno runs is not set. However I have asked Ben a few questions which I have shown below with his answers in bold

1.Is there anywhere we can plant a few GoPro cams to film each car on the dyno?

If you have tripods for them there will be, there isn’t anywhere you could mount them without sticking them to the wall.

2.Its looking like it gonna be pissing down, so assuming that each car can be run on the dyno if wet?

Not a problem to run the cars if its wet.

3.Is there an area where the guys can shelter throughout the day if the weather is pants?

People will be allowed in the workshop to watch the cars on the dyno

This point is for attention of Dave
With the R8 V10, for this to run correctly on the dyno we have to run it in RWD only, which means removing the prob. We can do this but it means it won’t be able to run first.

Im not going to alter the schedule and also I have now made up and numbered the name badges, so Dave we can discuss this when on site and get your run done ASAP.

A few tips:

- Be careful of stones working loose from the tyres as they tend to bounce around a workshop at high speed
- If you're gunna be there all day, wear some muffs *snigger*
- Budget 20mins per car, it looks like it'll be a 10+ hour day for you lot
- Ensure everyone is prepared to run well before their place is called. This includes having their tyre pressures set and engines warmed up. You'd be surprised how many times you'll be calling out names only to find they've gone for a drive to warm up the engine and causing dyno downtime. I suggest enforcing a punishment for being tardy, a round of "dead-arms/legs" will usually do it.
- If someone's car has a fault don't let this cause an overrun on their dyno slot, just get it off the rollers and shuffle it, you'll be there all day otherwise.
- Don't be afraid to sit in the boot if there are traction issues, you only live once
- Ensure no one is running winter tyres, they're soft, they'll heat up and stink out the workshop
- Don't forget to tip the stripper, she'll take care of you
No matter where you go, there you are.

- Get Norris McWhirter down there to see if it’s “a record number of dyno’d cars for one day”.

(although he’ll probably give you a completely irrelevant answer involving the number of vertebrae in a giraffes neck. Nervously smile and accept the answer anyway)
I think it’s 7, like us btw.

Cheers Bam....some very good pointers there buddy and appreciate you posting this. :thumb:

Ben said that they should get through 4-6 cars an hour if running smoothly, so if an average is taken the event should go on till around 3pmish, but that also depends on how many chaps want a go on the stripper :jump:

Yep, it's quite a way out for me. If anybody happens to be going through South Yorkshire and down the M1 tomorrow it should be easy enough to do a drop off then I can bring down on sunday.

She's not a stripper is she, as the event still needs one of those :))

Seriously though, thanks for organising this
I organise events for a living, so I know just how time consuming these sort of things are
