I met him in a underground car park at bluewater [about 45miles from me]. I left the car with him and went and got a coffee - a wander round the shops and an hour later he was done!Firestarter wrote:Im in the south so Im guessing we could meet half way
Ah excellent. Now that would be a much belter option as im about the same distance to BW as you. Mailed him today and got a price to supply & fir the RNS-E and AMI. Was considering going up to him but will speak to him tomorrow and hopefully schedule a day when he is down southsync24 wrote:I met him in a underground car park at bluewater [about 45miles from me]. Hi AllPetrolDave wrote:The speed limit warning doesn't work when you fit a 2010+ RNS-E into a B7 - the messages it needs are not present on the Infotainment CAN bus.DALO wrote:the speed limit warning function was very handy!
I've replied to the PM - S4WON has confused the RNS-E speed limit warning on the 2010+ RNS-E with the DIS speed warnings - they're totally unrelated (and both DIS speed warnings still work with a 2010+ RNS-E).S4WON wrote:Resurrecting this old thread to hopefully find someone who can answer this specific question. Ive just picked up my rs4 and the previous owner has fitted a 2010 RNS+. however, I need to change speed limit 2 and it definitely isnt working
I will have a look tonight fella - I have a 2010+ RNS-E [and AMI]S4WON wrote:final bump in the hope some kind soul will try this out (above) and put me out of my misery!
All the wires needed by the AMI are already at the RNS-E, and from some eBay sellers (and other places) you can by a ready made cable.JoeyManhattan wrote:I've heard that the CAN wires need to be run in order for the new AMI to function properly, not sure if this is so.
RNSe (even the later versions) surely only support one or the other via the software? AMI goes into the glove box location where the CD changer lives in any caseSurrey Sam wrote:have you tried running your AMI and CD changer together? I'm a little reluctant to go fully over to MP3.
Thank you much, before I make an ebay purchase does anyone know of any sellers that already have swapped the faceplates over?PetrolDave wrote:All the wires needed by the AMI are already at the RNS-E, and from some eBay sellers (and other places) you can by a ready made cable.JoeyManhattan wrote:I've heard that the CAN wires need to be run in order for the new AMI to function properly, not sure if this is so.
Go for the 2010+ RNS-E plus AMI.
