You fitted the steering wheel yet?
Next week that's being fitted, along with a ported inlet manifold de carbon, JHM spacers and gutted cats and then off to MRC for a stage 2 map

I am not sure if anybody has done a self service on the clutch but I imagine they have. We already know about the pressure plate issue which has been carried to the JHM ones as they used an OEM one in their clutch so it seems to be an issue specific for the clutch and is normally solved by its replacement.

I took the opportunity to post the changes I have made to add another example, the components changed and the final solve. To be honest unless you drive the car close to limits it doesn't tend to reappear and you will likely get a considerable amount of miles out the car without having to change anything.
While that may be true, a new clutch would include new fluid. If done by the right person they will use a decent fluid.

Work done by Audi may include various new components and flushing the system but if they're putting the same old <beep> in the problem will resurface.. It seems the majority of people get work done at main dealers..

Just a theory..

Oh the joys... Had this happen yesterday after a frustrating crawl in London traffic and then giving it the big'un at the junction when I finally managed to turn right.

Clutch pedal went down and only returned to 50% position. Awful smell of burning clutch to go with it.

Pulled over, turned her off, re-started and gave the clutch pedal a wiggle and hey presto back to normal. Rest of drive home all seems fine and all been fine today too..

Having just brought the car and waiting on the Inchcape warranty to be re-assigned I've now got to wait until that's through before I can get her in to be sorted...

Let's hope this Plan B warranty lives up to it's promises :-) .... anybody else used the Inchcape for clutch issues?

That's how it starts, as an intermittent problem.

Exactly the same for me. It will return and I'm afraid it will be a complete clutch and other components to fix
Gone and miss very much

Interesting reading, thanks for the tip about testing the clutch whilst stationery i will remember that as i continue my search fora B7 RS4.
On a side note this problem also exists with the 2009-2011 focus rs, it happened to mine every time the revs went above 6000rpm the clutch pedal stuck to the floor, ford were replacing the clutch pedal box, spring pack and master cylinder from a focus st as they did with mine under warranty but ive heard now they are just replacing the clutch master cylinder as they believe that is the cause.
