The plastic splitter/spoiler under bumper /S4/B7

Post by MikeyJS4 » Sat Sep 21, 2013 9:13 am

Hi there.

Went over a speed hump bit too fast and appeared to scrape under the bumper(scraped under the bumper but no one can see it thankfully), so I pulled up and noticed one of my plastic spoilers under the bonnet gone. It appears to just bit a straight screw on job but I cannot for the life of me actually locate one online or if I even got the right name for it.

It isn't the mud guard that is in front of the front wheel.

Seems to have a left and right piece.

Any help?

Thanks guys.

A picture would be helpful to see which bit you mean. Oh and FON.

This side is the drivers side without the 'plastic guard'. You can also see the screws where it would fit.

This is the passengers side which still has it attached.

Any help?

Cheers

Mine hasn't got that part at all. I would remove the remainder and not worry about it.

It just looks like a front decorative trim piece tbh. Nothing important so no biggie if it's not there.

Do you think its standard piece? Or been added?

Actually quite like them lol, do you know where I can get them from?

Thanks mate, so its just a matter of going to the stealers and looking and selecting the part from the cross section catalog they have?
As I do not have the part number or even find it online anywhere!!

Pretty much yes. But don't be surprised if they pull your trousers down and bend you over with the price! :bigblink:

Hopefully it wont be too much of a rape :), not happy about scraping the bottom side of my bumper though. Even though you cannot see it, I know its there!

Yet another thing I will have to sort out :|

I would be happy right now if a scrapped bumper was top of my list of worries. I'm looking at having to pull my engine as looks like a jumped tooth on the cam timing or a faulty cam adjuster :(

That translates into mega expense?

Yes the scrapped bumper isn't even visible unless under the car, would not even know its there unless you felt it. Absolutely no big deal.
