Drove a C7!
Re: Drove a C7!
AMG deals are also pretty bloody good. Trouble is the savage deprecation and the fact there are loads about appears to ruin trade in values etc.
I'm no expert but this was what I found when looking at used Mercs and Audis. Just look at how many used C63s there are on the market and compare that to RS5s.

Re: Drove a C7!
Just did a basic search:
100 C63s from 2010
21 RS5s from 2010
The Merc dealer told me that had loads of people coming to chop in their C63s are getting lower than normal trade ins. Food for thought.

Re: Drove a C7!
Exactly anth8910 and Roy. The customer service of Audi garages in north east is apolling. Anth8910 they don't seem to want to sell you the car or as Roy said not very forthcoming got the attitude of the cars there that's the price if your not happy there's the door. That's exactly the reason I have in the past 3 years bought 4 audis px back in etc with Lincoln Audi so happy to help great garage. Anth8910 I know I might test the water and ring both garages scotswood road and silverlink and see what they say if I want to test drive an RS6. As ROY said there's not many people who have got the guts or passionate enough to empty their wallets, with these beasts. That's why you would think they would do anything possible to sell you a car but nope. Sorry for going on a bit lads and mentioning anth8910 and ROY a 100 times. Just thought I'd add my bit to it.

Re: Drove a C7!
My brother recently bought a new M5 and got a great deal with 0% finance and a good dealer contribution, can't see Audi doing that. However, I do see some point in this as I think the M5's residuals will suffer in the next 2-3 years.
That being said, my RS6 had lost £40k in under 3 years when I bought it.

Re: Drove a C7!
There is a finance contribution if you PCP, but it's not going to be close to the BMW or Merc deals.
Agree re residuals, there will be more cars than there would have been otherwise, for what is a small market, that must have an effect.

Re: Drove a C7!
For when I finally to get to test the RS6. Does anyone know how to make the exhaust louder if its fitted with it ? Do you put it into sport ?. I've heard them on YouTube on start up sounded great, revving along nicely then must have pressed some button. And sounds much louder and better and on revs giving almighty crackles and pops.
Re: Drove a C7!
Yep, through individual settings, engine to dynamic. Demo cars unlikely to have sports exhaust, in fact unlikely to have much in the way of options full stop.
Re: Drove a C7!
Cheers doodlebug. Yeah demonstrators back in the day normally came loaded. But nowadays hardly anything. Ill see they said the cars booked out all week until next Monday the 16th. So will be testdriving then hope it's just not your usual 10 15 min test drive would be ideal if I got to take the car for a couple hours and drop back off later. Especially when you could be possibly parting with that kind of money I don't think a sales man sat next to you test drive does it. Anyways will see when I take it for a drive.

It's a zf 8 and is a tq converter automatic but Audi are calling it S-tronic (same with the S8). Seems to be the new Audi word for all automatic transmissions, be they DSG dual clutch style or the traditional tq converter auto.
I'll just leave these here...

I think the reason there's some confusion is that the VCA who give those nice emmissions sheets attached a nice lectern in the showroom cocked up and showed the RS6, RS7 and S8 to be an S-tronic on their official looking paperwork.
This probably led to some dealerships with little or no attention to detail labelling their stock RS6 / RTS7 / S8 as an S-tronic.
This in turn probably led to some customers seeing "S-tronic" on an RS6, and believing it.
I noticed the VCA error, and had the mother of all mountains to climb to have them acknowledge their error as they swore they wweere correct, but eventually got them change their paperwork for the UK dealers display information.
It's definitely tiptronic as Ben has kindly posted!

There were deals on the pre-facelift/2013 model M5s in dealership stock. The downside is you got the pre facelift/2013 model car. It's an interesting comparison as we've not had customers choosing between the two - the rwd saloon vs. the quattro Avant tends to polarise opinion.

Ah ok I thought urs was mapped.Trups wrote:Golf,Golfather wrote:Is ur C6 standard Trups?
its got sec cats out, full sys and filters.
after I had the exhaust don't it was RR'd at 618hp and then going on the figures filters get I should be at 640hp.
I have been in classba's car and that was fast actually that was rapid, but its a completely different type of power delivery, this is there in your face and redlines every gear, they C6 is was just mental and a brutal delivery.
You really need to get in it to see what I mean, they sound of the engine has come back so you know its there even pulling away slow.
Trups
Ive been in a normal C7. Great spec. Great chassis. A lot more nimble. Modern. Clean. Fresh.
Like them a lot.
However once u get used to the madness that is a mapped C6, NOTHING out there can touch it in terms of raw power!
C7 RS has a lot to live up to.
Re: Drove a C7!
In a straight line I think like for like the C7 will take it, quicker box, more torque and less weight.
You'd not see where the C7 went in the corners, it's a lot more willing to change direction.
It's progress, can't sum it up any simpler.

Re: Drove a C7!
A C7 will keep a GTR honest in a straight line but more importantly it'll out brake one (with stealies). I'm not sure about repeated stopping (track work) but the C7 brake systems will haul up that beast of an avant before the GTR plows into a brick wall, that's impressive, huh?
No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: Drove a C7!
Big time. Didn't know that. I'd have it on ceramics, though the stealies are OK - better than the C6, progress on the tech and a bit less weight to haul up.bam_bam wrote:A C7 will keep a GTR honest in a straight line but more importantly it'll out brake one (with stealies). NOTE: I've started it at the brake test. Also, it's a riiiiiiiiidiculous match up but worth it just to see the braking.
