Antony's fitting alarms to a couple of customer's cars in Peterborough in the next couple of weeks so I'm hoping I can make it down there so he can do mine too. :biggrin3:

Had mine fitted last week, got a couple of issues but been assured they'll be sorted. Seems to be a nice chap and am pleased with whats been done and handled so far :)

Issues are:
1. Central locking now needs two clicks to unlock from the alarm fob.
2. Starting switch now needs to be kept pressed until engine is started.
3. EPC light has come on the dashboard.
4. Faulty sensor, replacement on order.

One thing worth mentioning is that they don't come with a battery backup siren as standard, he kindly upgraded mine as it was faulty and he only had the self powered ones with him..

He also has a stunning BMW M3... am i allowed to say that on here lol....

Gone but not forgotten... Sprint Blue B7 RS4 with all the toys :)

Thanks Adrian for the feedback.

The first two points I can live with although doesn't it depend on how you have it configured? either use the std Audi key fob or the Viper to control everything?
What option(s) did you go for?

The EPC light coming on? Strange would that be connected to the alarm? Whats the fault code?

Glad your getting it sorted - seems a decent chap :thumb:

Yeah the starter motor button just needs getting used to, no biggie really... Using the Audi Key fob it opens / closes as normal and arms the Viper, it's only the Viper Key fob and like you say is just a configuration tweak i believe.

The EPC light i think is due to the clutch switch being disconnected during the install from what i can make out, probably just needs to be reset using VAG-COM or similar but i don't have it. Car runs fine...

I went for the upgraded LCD Key Fob, Glass break, Dual Proximity & battery backup siren options...

Thanks Adrian :thumb: I'm looking at getting those options too.
I think I'm going to invest in a RossTech cable and VCDS as it'll probably save some money in the long run and also the hassle of visiting the local stealer.

Well I had my Viper Alarm fitted today and I'm really pleased with the result, workmanship and professionalism of Antony.

I went for these options;
Glass break sensor,
Dual proximity with warn away
Dual impact sensor with warn away

Also I asked in addition for the car horn to be wired into the alarm which activates when the alarm goes off. So I have an additional 120DB siren, Car horn and the original alarm siren all going off at the same time. I'm not sure on the total DB but all I can say is its f*cking LOUD! (If things could wake the dead then this would fit the bill) ;-)

The warn away sensor works well and the internal/external sensitivity can be adjusted fairly easily if required. Valet mode is easily switched on via the remote, original alarm sonics still function and work alongside the microwave sensors. The boot opens okay from the new fob, no real conflicts detected yet but early days - all in all a pretty seamless integration. I have the system set to only use the Viper remote as recommended (kept separately) so even if they get the keys then the car won't start. Also future proof it for Audi key cloning when/if that chestnut arrives...

I got chatting to him and he told me that he's fitted the alarm to quite few RS4s now. I think he's considering becoming a Sponsor on here as unfortunately he said it's turning into a bit of an epidemic (good for him, not for us) He said he'll be updating his video section on his website with some more of the RS4 as he seems to be doing more and more of them lately...

I know if they want it they'll have it and no alarm is foolproof but if you look at the std one and whats happening lately with car and seat thefts then it's a small outlay against the value of the car and far better than the alternative of haggling with insurance companies. Unfortunately our standard alarm/siren is not much of an effective deterrent and this is all I wanted to achieve. Next stop is spot weld those seats bolts then I can relax and have a :drink:

Met Antony this afternoon and had mine installed too.

All went fairly smoothly. Only small issue is that longer than about a minute after arming with the viper remote subsequently doing a disarm won't unlock the doors any more (seems like the Audi computer goes to sleep after a while and ignores the door unlock command). Easy enough to get around for the time being (just need to press the unlock button on the Audi key after disarming) and Antony's getting a part that should fix it and coming back to fit it.

Also can't say I have the problem mentioned with the starter switch either (a short press still seems to fire it up, don't need to hold it down), nor do I have any error light on the dash :)

All in all a happy camper! Now to think about getting the seat bolts welded too...

Thanks for the write ups guys, looks to be a good choice! Getting very tempted, it's not just the seats for me, it's the hours and pounds spent on the stereo install.

Anthony has been in touch since as he's found whats causing both the EPC light and the starter button fault on mine... Can't fault the service from him, first class :)

Thanks - Yes seems to be wise investment at the moment - your stereo must be worth a few £K :)
