What's this part called? As you can see the plastics all flaking off and corroded.

It's the A pillar mirror trim.

You can buy a carbon fibre cover from Argon Creative but they're a bugger to fit!

Thanks buddy. Do you know where else I can get it from? I've googled it but ebay keeps coming up something totally different.

Sar posted a guide to remove the mirrors and base plate. Check it out. Getting re sprayed should be cheaper than new. Mine are the same so getting them done soon

Given they look like they are alluminium it may be worth getting them anodised rather than painted/powder coated ?

the only thing i'd say about respraying is that the parts are pretty cheap anyway (£44) and by the time you've masked off really carefully and or removed them to spray them you might as well have replaced them. (in my opinion)

my drivers side one has definitely been sprayed in the past as there's a tiny bit of overspray on the paintwork just below the silver trim strip. as well as that slight annoyance which needs tidying up, the base has bubbled up again and needs doing again (or replacing)

Very true. I am taking my mirrors off to get them sprayed anyway so its not a major job to take the base plate too. The shop I use is doing them for 30 a side, mirrors and base plate
