Drive the RS6 today !!!

Post by parmd » Sun Aug 18, 2013 9:48 pm

What can I say, I was initially underwhelmed by the Daytona grey paint as the car looked very bland. However the size and general width of this car is insane!! Very very imposing, in start up there is a lovely V8 burble which continues as you potter around the side streets.
However got onto a country lane and pressed hard on the loud pedal and was very impressed with the insane rush of torque and urgency with which the car race towards a very licence losing speed. I did however feel that the suspension didn't ride through the bumps too well at high speed so I'm hoping the dynamic pack may sort this or maybe is was in the wrong mode??

Anyway great car an coming from a Porsche turbo this car is up there with the thrills!!

Mentioned to the business manager I was interested in swapping out my bmw for a Q3 so left with a new Q3 aswell, this was the world most expensive test drive !!!

It was Air, changed my mind on the Q3 and went for the Q5. I quite like them and I think it will be nice as a daily drive.

Hi Fifeaudi, I went for the 2.0tdi 177bhp. Would love to have the 3.0tdi but its going to be my daily drive and didn't see the point particularly as I'm trading in my 116d efficient dynamics BMW for it. Agree with you, great car and should keep the wife away from my RS6!!

Does anyone know whether the dynaic steering is/can be/will be tweakable by firmware updates? I dont know much about these new steering systems.

As in aftermarket? I've not seen anything to date. It is tweakable through the car's setup.

RS6 propaganda just dropped through the door...

Im thinking in terms of an Audi release. I gather these systems are ongoing & whilst I dont think Id get on with the steering as presently constituted I dont want to miss out if it's subject to firmware revision etc

Given that there is control within the software it is entirely feasible that there could be an update.
