Rikki,
Works a treat, used for occasional light trailer for dump, go kart, bikes etc.
Got it fitted by Grizz at Unit 20
PM me and I'll meet up for you to have a look if you like,
Sorry no photos, I'm away with no photos to hand.
But I will put some up when I'm back.

Welcome to the forums & FON ( look up the rules!)

Bit of a thread bump but im thinking of getting a track car and considering using the 6 to tow it to the track, ive spoken in other threads about fitting an uprated ATF oil cooler so the extra heat in the box shouldnt be an issue and ive had the DRC ditched for coilovers so the extra strain on the rear isnt an issue.

It will be a 4 wheel braked trailor and the car on the trailor im thinking of a stripped out type r civic so maybe weighing 1200kg-1400kg total

Can anyone think of any issues with doing this??

Also as i side note is this removable towbar rated for this weight as it would be nice to 'ditch' it when i dont need it??

I wouldnt even be thinking about this if it wernt for the new law saying all cars must be taxed and insured at all times.

2 years ago id have just bought a type r and kept it T&T all year, put it on day insurance and just driven it to the track

I don't think ATF temps will be an issue of you're just towing a car on a trailer. As long as you're not trying to outrun it, of course.

What new law is this? What about SORN'd cars?

/edit: do you mean the 6 year old "new" law?

6 years!! has it been that long?? Time flys...

Yea the law that states you cant keep a car taxed without it being insured, i thought about keeping it sorned but its a bit of a pain to keep insuring/taxing it every time i fancy a track day.

I could just keep it taxed, tested and insured but it seems a waste seeing as it'll most likely only get used 5 or 6 times a year.

I was thinking that as long as there is some mechanical sympathy given when towing it shouldnt be a major issue and seeing as im only 15mins from brands hatch it wouldnt be for a long haul

Yeah, I don't think it's an issue. Just check your insurance situation for towing.

Good excuse to buy a proper track prepared car... Don't have to worry about keeping it road legal.
