Engine Management Light after Re-Fuel
Engine Management Light after Re-Fuel
After refuelling with a certain big brand fuel I get the engine management light after about 50 miles. Vagcom shows emissions. Light re-set 1000+ miles with several refuels (not said brand ) fine. Fill up with same brand and boom 50 miles later light is on. Anyone seen this ?
Re: Engine Management Light after Re-Fuel
Strange one.... Did both batches of the problem fuel come from the same garage?
Recycling dinosaurs for fun
Re: Engine Management Light after Re-Fuel
Yes , same garage but about 2-3 weeks apart.
Re: Engine Management Light after Re-Fuel
Does it say the error for both bank 1 and 2? After a decat the CEL won't come on straight away, only under certain conditions (pretty sure it's linked to driving under open/closed loop using either lambdas or not - I.e it could be that you have a problem with your cats, and the problem is only showing under certain conditions.
If you started your car up in the morning and drive for 200 miles on the motorway without any traffic lights or junctions then the light wouldn't come on. Why don't you log what the lambdas are seeing and compare to someone else's.

Car is standard , driving has been varied no long motorway runs. Can't remember exact codes and vag kit is now in storage as moving house. Will update with codes if happens again. I take it no one has seen this before ?
