Could possibly be me that is wrong but don't think I am, the main thing with the classic scoob was the lightweight design which help make up for not being a torque monster. The 2.5 lumps gave great torque increases, at the expense of lunching themselves more frequently than the 2l chocolate pistons imo
.
Anyway, good luck with the new car, an awful lot of new owners have been coming on here, complaining about the running/oopsie costs and parting company with the cars almost as soon as they have bought them. Hopefully you won't be in the same position with this girl.

That explains a lot. I'm surprised that a twin turbo V8 super car that weighs nigh on 2tonnes costs a lot to run and maintainMr Footlong wrote:

Maybe an agricultural poogeot 307 turbo diesel would be more suitable!
I always purchase a car expecting the worst to happen and then everything after is a bonus!

Mah, I researched costs before buying and I know it's gunna be pricey, each car I've bought is better than the last, I've never gone back yet... I do plan on keeping the car while like as I need an estate for the dog so the only way I can see of moving on from the RS6 C5 would be to go for an RS6 C6 next. I'm getting ahead of myself anyway cos that would be a couple of years away. We are looking into emigrating to Oz in 3 or 4 years time and I would like the car to last until then..
