I see you have H&R spacers. Would these need to be removed if you install a set of lowering springs?
If I'm honest I'm not sure, ill find out though
I run 8mm front & 10mm back H&R Hubcentric spacers. (IMO - I would not use anything apart from hubcentric spacers as it's not worth the potential vibration issues)

Before I had this lowering kit fitted I was running SS+ with the spacers above and it rubbed the lining bolt (which is located inside the front arch) once under really heavy compression due to a massive pot hole (should have seen it :bash: ) I checked the car and had no damage - just the paint on the bolt was scuffed at the edge. A lot of people run 8mm with no problems and 99.9% of the time it's fine.

I have the KW spring kit set to the lowest setting at the back and get no rubbing (64cm measured from ground to centre arch).

However.....the fronts is what you should be more concerned with. I am running 8mm and have now taken out the lining bolt. It's fine as the lining rests on the lip and will go nowhere. Since the lowering kit was fitted I had set the fronts to 64cm but found this a bit low for me as it was catching on the centre exhaust over speed humps so raised this to 65cm which then worked well for me and still looks damn low.

If there is a lower hubcentric spacer then personally I would go for it and shave of a few mm of the front (but I've been told that 8mm is the lowest that you can go). No rubbing yet just have to avoid those pot holes a bit more now.....

Nice one Graham, massive improvement. Personally I would have gone a shade darker but each to their own.
Defo agree about the springs, needs a little drop. Trying to get mine fitted atm but not having much luck.

Is that paint or powder coating?

What is the approximate cost of a paint/pc and cleaning up any wheel rash on a typical wheel, per wheel?

Thanks Gavla excellent overview and understood by me the "newbie rookie" of this forum :beerchug: You got any pics of how your car looks now? Yeah defo Hubcentric and I have pinged Virdee for a cost together with longer wheel studs and also longer longer locking wheel studs. When you say you have removed the lining bolt, where exactly is that inside the front arch and did you remove on both o/s & n/s arches?

I notice that a few chaps in the south are struggling to find a decent garage to fit the KWs. I can recommend an outfit I have used several times that are near Worthing West Sussex which is around 40mins from where I am. Top top boys, Petrolheads and one of the 4 mechanic's also owns an RS4. Once I have my RS it will be going to them for all non Engine upgrade (remap etc etc) work as they are excellent and also cheap!!! PM me if interested :thumb:

Cheers Firestarter!

When you get your car then the round headed bolt is pretty obvious and is just inside the centre arch at the front on both sides.

There's a picture of mine with the KW Lowering kit on the group buy thread below ;-)
