in light of this I have spoke to a mate who does engineering and I am going to see him tomo about making up some lock in nuts that have been spoken about In previous threads, he said over the phone its possible to do so lets see if he can do something for all the owners that have buckets in, could even be used for the comfort seats if needed.

Keep us posted on this, I'm sure everyone will have a set off him on this board let alone the other Audi forums.

Well I've emailed Audi uk, copy in earlier post and car going to jack Barclay Audi on Monday for quote.
Any other concerned victims or current owners send me your email and I can copy you in on correspondence. I would hope with a little support Audi may come up with a solution to lock te seats or in my case hopefully a goodwill gesture to save my car being written off like so many others.
I'm hoping mine 'might' be marginal as a 2007 avant with low miles and warrantied it's entire life.
Here's hoping!

Count me in - this problem isn't affecting those of us with comfort seats (yet...) but we can stick together as owners and make it more economic for him to get the special bolts if we all buy a set.

I would also say that no info is given out over the net about the setup of these locking nuts as I'm sure the scum look at these forums. Maybe if you want a set you have to prove you own an RS or something like that (maybe a little OTT but you get the idea.

Sounds good, only supplied on pick up at Audi dealerships.
If someone on here is then stuck because they don't have their car, one of us can pick them up and send them to you.

The name of the company I am going to use will never be mentioned on this forum or any other. I am going to get them made in such a way that no more than 5 sets never has the same key, also I was thinking of sending with the set a number on a card (kind of like a radio code) so if you did need a new key made you would have to produce me your card and receipt that you bought the nuts via me.
i will be taking my C6 RS6 with me to get the measurements in terms of getting the to fit perfect in the base without protruding the seat going back and forth as the end of the nut would need to be strong to allow these to get to the 50lbs of torque needed to tighten without rounding off the heads.
Petroldave, your right its not affecting us all, if I can get a set il be putting them on my C6 as the last thing I want is them nicking my seats an then them appearing in a 1.6tdi A3! if all the buckets are bolte down no doubt they will start taking any RS seats as even with comforts they still fetch a premium and for 5 mins work these scums are making well over 1k!

I am very, very sorry to hear this - we was only just chatting about this at the Kent meet today - I'm in for any assistance required including a meet attendance and anything else that needs to be done.
Lets hope Trups comes up with the goods ASAP and lets fight back. No words describe the people who are carrying this out and to top it off the old bill are about as good as Anne Franks drum kit!

I've thought about these (hope link works), though if you need to remove the seat...... Would happily wait to see what trups' mate comes up with though.

that's a good idea, how would you take that out if needed?
Just need something that would stump them when they get the ratchet out! imagine the look while they are hanging in the car, one day bet they break into the wrong persons car and get whats given to them!

My worry would be if they cannot get them out they then take a knife to them and the rest of the car!
