Hmmmm...

Got the various bits, fitted it.... and it doesn't work! The switch is still in line, so to get the fogs on you need to turn on the side lights too - which I could do before!!

Anyone got the wiring diagramme for the Fogs - I can't find it in the Tech archive - I need to splice in a feed further down the system...

Looks like it all happens inside the switch, Dave. Fuse 36 takes its feed from the X75 then goes straight to the switch. From the switch, the wires go straight to the fog lights. I can't see a way around this without opening up the switch. I'll keep looking.

Now I'm confused because I had a look at the 1999 A6 wiring and it's the same.

What colour is the line off the switch to the fog lights - and how do you get the switch out!

White/green going from switch to fog lights.

Ah - there are two white green wires - is the feed the same colour?

Any easy way to get the switch out

Yes, the 2 wires going to the 2 fog lights are both white/green.

Thanks - in the end I simply tested both and came to that conclusion - all now spliced in and working - pics to follow when I have the dash back together

So basically your fogs will be on as soon as the ignition goes on?

I wonder if you should be using a diode on that splice...

All done - and working!

Don't think it needs a diode as all I have done effectively is bypass the switch poles for the front fogs.

Splice onto one green/white wire using clip on splice

Thanks to the online help desk along the way!!

Normally I'd agree, but as access was very limited it was easier than trying to solder while standing on my head!
