Just spotted this on pistonheads

Interesting setup going there. Looks and sounds like a real beast. But what I don't get is that someone has spent loads of cash on this car but not driven it that much, seems like a complete waste to me.

That looks like a good set up, I assume MRC know the car very well and would vouch for it.

If the upkeep hasn't been done through MRC solely (since the bulk of the upgrade work or otherwise), recently and to correct intervals it would be unfair to expect them to vouch for anything imo. No idea what the service intervals are on these as I don't tend to do more than 4-5k between services but surely it is x miles/every year?

I've seen that car at Mrc, I'm sure it was up for sale at close to 40k a few years back it was immaculate back then. Worth 20k imo

I love the idea of an RS6 manual with greater power. However, IMHO I the non C5 items such as the wheels & steering wheel don't do the car justice. It is said 'the devil is in the detail' but provenance of a motor is important.

The owner also has a top end T5 transporter for work and uses that for most journeys... I have to admit I would drive it more than it has been but dogs and kids aren't welcome inside so use became less and less. This isn't a car to use to pop 2 miles to the shops it would ruin it.

The car was indeed up for sale for 40k some time back, i think this was a little high specially with the prices coming down.. the owner really needs to sell for a house purchase. 20k is a bargain but because of the pressure of the house purchase he is even taking offers....

The car has only had Oil services to the engine since the work was carried out... obviously MRC fitted the new gearbox last year and the brakes have been done, Doug and Mihnea know this car intimately they are proud of what they achieved with it... and rightly so.

The steering wheel was changed as the flappy paddles were no longer needed, this could be easily swapped for something more subtle along with the wheels. There would probably be a profit to be made as the parts fitted are not cheap.

The fuel consumption will only be 19.3 if your driving miss daisy, it drops to <5 on full throttle at the top end !!!!

The car is as it seems, an honest brute, nothing to hide in stunning condition.
