There's a £250 excess on my policy so smaller items not worth the hassle of claiming for. I was told on renewal it wouldbe "significantly" cheaper so will see what I do come December this year.

Am determined to get something covered / claimed for before renewal time !

I've found my paperwork, I paid £820 for 1yr Audi comprehensive.

Also I'm 99% I've now got a steering pump failure which should be covered under warranty so reckon ive probabky saved myself 3 to 4 times what i paid on the warranty.

I knew the excess was £250 (as I chose to do set it at that level) it just annoys me that things such as oil cooler are / were not covered etc which yes I guess arguably is something mentioned in the small print (i.e failure due to corrosion isn't covered)

if i'd put £100 a month a way into a war chest i'd be 3 or 4 years down at the moment so that wouldn't have worked either lol ! never mind. car will be perfect by the time I sell it :)

I've just had a confirmed steering pump failure, Audi wanted £1520 for it, will be done under warranty so all it will cost me is the £250 excess.

I debated long and hard just having a war chest, I couldn't be more glad I took the warranty as the war chest would be empty and I'd probably be in for another two grand as well.

if you are lucky then £100 a month theory put away works fine but it doesn't take much to very quickly wipe out a years worth of £100..but if its worked / is working for you then thats cool and I don't resent you at all..... much ;)
