That's weird. Mobile site only shows 4 photos. Desktop site shows 9 plus a video. I'll have another look.

Re: Help for the newbie
I just guessed on the suspension. Front looks too low to be DRC though the rear is jacked up which suggests incorrectly recharged DRC. I'm still betting on aftermarket suspension, though.
It's worrying that he doesn't say full history. Even when they say full service history what they mean is a spurious stamp in the book and a receipt for tyres from 2007.

Re: Help for the newbie
Thanks again Shop, I knew people on here would be able to spot things I couldn't. I'm also not sure about the Red.
I know revolution and have used them for my previous cars, but are there any owners based in the North East?

Re: Help for the newbie
With regards to the first ad....I have test driven the car, was lovely, smooth and responsive. Generally seemed in very good condition but during the test drive a few electrical items failed.... These were to be sorted out, I left saying that once I knew what had gone wrong and that these failings had been properly rectified, I would be happy to talk a deal. 3 days later I rung them to see how things were going, to be told all was sorted, the guy didn't know what was wrong, how it was repaired but assured me that all was well! I asked him to find out exactly what was done and rang back the following day, now they wanted to do a deal, they wanted a deposit paid in order for the cambelt service to be carried out. I said that I was still unaware of what had been done to rectify the faults and I wasn't paying any deposit until we'd had some sort of deal! In my mind at the very least all 4 wheels need refurbing, the guy( owner?) said as far as he was concerned the screen price was the selling price because of the cambelt service and all but put the phone down on me.
All in all I wouldn't trust these guys, something just didn't add up and although during the test drive I was told the car was £500 cheaper than advertised, they wouldn't entertain a thing. Pity because the car seemed good but the dealer's attitude left a lot to be desired and I couldn't imagine ringing them up if there was a problem and getting anything but nothing from them.
The aerial and rear wiper were to be replaced, having been stolen.

Re: Help for the newbie
Thanks for sharing lala. Do you remember what the failures were ie were they displayed on the dash or actual faults like seats not working? Also how long before they occurred on the test?
My mate is a mechanic but I need to do as much homework as I can before I bother him.
It's difficult coz you find a car that you like and then the dealer turns out to be dodgy!
Did you get sorted or are you still looking?

Re: Help for the newbie
Your second one has been around for a little while - it was one of the two I bookmarked a month ago when mine went walk about for a few days. It was also on PHeads at that time with a slightly different write up, and different contact details so I was somewhat skeptical about the seller, though I never contacted him.
If you are after a Misano one (fastest colour!!) then there is one on P'heads with the Hi tech interior and carbon fibre - much more elegant and appropriate to the car (IMHO)!

Re: Help for the newbie
No probs sharing my experience, maybe it was me that they didn't like and didn't want to sell to?
First of all the indicators packed up, near side first, then off side and then the hazards. Then the drivers side seat controls stopped working.
Ultimately it's a second hand car and these things happen, I can live with that but what set the alarms going for me was the " I don't know what was wrong but it's repaired " attitude.....can't see a car dealer being so flippant about money! He's not going to spend a £ more than he has to and I just can't believe that it was repaired and he has no knowledge of what was involved and how much it cost. Also in the current climate do you put the phone down on a prospective buyer? I booked an appointment for a test drive, drove an hour to get there, rung them a day later to get a few details I needed for the insurance and declined their interest in part exchanging my Evo. I believe I came across as a genuine buyer rather than a tyre kicker.
The car has been on my radar for a while and has already had a £1000 price drop, which apparently was because the car needs the cam belt service.
Hope this helps

Re: Help for the newbie
Does anyone have a clue what the electrical faults may have been based on Lala's experience or could it be lots of things?
I'm not the most technical person as you can probably tell!

Re: Help for the newbie
I did some googling and thought the indicators/hazards are some control box behind the hazard light switch, common and cheapish to fix. The seat could be dirty connections or at worst anew switch set which google said was about £150.
Could be way out on this but at the time of the test drive really thought it was the dealers job to sort it

Also the car has no tax, is due an mot in the not too distant future and might also need a service.

Re: Help for the newbie
I had a look at the first one a month back. The following are not to be critical as I wanted to still buy it, they were just notes I took down...
On looks, there was something on the drivers side that was stuck on and thought you could still see some of the glue on the trim. The aerial was in the glove box and a bit chewed. The rear wiper was missing/ stolen but they'd replace it. The wire loom in the bay was chewed. The service book was a duplicate. The car was warmed up before I got there. On the first straight, I floored it (after a slow drive warm up) but turbo didn't seem to kick in but might have just been me as everything after that was fine. Everything else seemed fine, no electrical faults when I tried it out.
I wanted to put an offer in depending on what they'd offer in part ex but then after seeing Matts car (I saw 3 RSs that day), decided I'd wait for a cleaner one for that price. For around the same price, Ben's one might be worth looking at...

Re: Help for the newbie
Saw the Misano one a week before I saw the Weatherfords and was my first
Clean and car drove very well. It was in High Wycomb and never been up hills as quick as that. Wasn't too sure what to look out for in the car as it was my first but was a good benchmark.
