Insurance !!!!
Insurance !!!!
Well phoned up the insurance today to see how much it would cost to swap my focus st to a RS4 & I get told that because it's a 4.2 the insurance group is too high & being 21 I am to young to drive the car
so it's either cancel my policy & start a fresh but loose this years no claims OR wait till Xmas eve till my policy is due for renewal & get my years no claim. Hmmmm decisions decisions

Re: Insurance !!!!
Try Sky Insurance as well buddy, they seem to be very competitive with their prices.
Re: Insurance !!!!
Yep haha that's with 1 year no clams, mum n dad on the policy, does have a high excess though, think I might just cancell the other policy as it only dropped by £70 with another years NCDAndyy wrote:£1,400!!

Re: Insurance !!!!
To be fair if you are straight out of uni and into a job paying 30k+ with no commitments then you can afford it. I know I certainly did a similar thing. Even easier if your mileage is low.
Apparently on the GTR forum there are youngish guys just living with their parents at 20-30 whilst earning 30-40k and buying used GTRs. They can afford it but they totally forgot to invest in property, ISAs, pensions etc. Short term fun but potential long term uncertainty.
I am in no way assuming this about the guys on this forum though.

Re: Insurance !!!!
wow, you must live in a bloody good area then! i have 3ncb
We just do what all you guys could have done at our age, instead you decided to do the smart thing as stated before and pay for your future.
....Plus mines a company car huehuhue but all my income does go on running the car, i have no commitments, i live at home with my dad and earn close to what you stated lol. Like you said, short term fun for me i will have to get my game face in a few years but a lot of people who run these cars have their own successful companies/incomes, so they'll keep these cars and better while still investing heavily in their future

Re: Insurance !!!!
I bought my rs4 for my 21st and just treated myself to a gtr for my 25th. Hard work pays off!!
1*** hp TTE C6 rs6 saloon and the ultimate WB B5
Re: Insurance !!!!
Yep well I don't drink or smoke, have a good job, if I don't get what I want now I may never have the chance to get it when I am older, still live with the mum n dad so don't have to pay for a house. Well it's not a bad area haha. I am in St. Helens so quiet close to Liverpool & I know that scumbags love a nice rs4. Works put cheaper if I park it on the road instead of our garage & cheaper if there is no tracker fitted :s
Re: Insurance !!!!
So both similar situations to what I described above.
At the risk of sounding old (at 27), I would say wait on the RS4 and get some financial foundations behind you before wasting it on a car.
I gave up my Man Utd season ticket and bought a house at 23. IMO a very good decision. Now I get to enjoy a brand new S5; which is a waste of money but at least I have some foundation. The younger you start being financially switched on the better. I am now attempting to pay off my mortgage early. Short term sacrifice for long term gain.
I reckon if you did this then later in life you could be driving an R8 instead of an RS4.
However, you only live once and I can absolutely relate to having money for the first time and wanting nice things.

Yep I know what you mean, but I would want to spend it why I am young haha. I would probably keep
It for a few years then get rid & start being sesible, I would only be 24/25 so still young enough to save for the future
