Car changes update!

Post by Noyjatat » Tue May 07, 2013 6:28 pm

Well after quite a bit of work the interior is almost finished and the lowering springs fitted heres a few updated pics.

A big thanks to the guys at Virdee Autos for the Piano Black steering wheel piece, Ipswich Audi for their work and Proveeda for taking great care of me since I bought the car off of them a couple of years ago who have got all the bits done while I am away with work.

Cheers Ben just a couple more small changes in there to replace the centre silver piece on the steering wheel and the silver parts on the gear knob to Piano Black and will leave it there for now....................:D

Hey Gareth, just seen these pics. They show up the bits i couldn't see in the PM, they look fookin lovely!

Glad to hear you're doing the middle bit of the steering wheel too, thought i was going bananas.

Wasn't the reason you went with Piano Black trim was because you were doing the back of the seats? It doesn't look like you've done it yet from those photos. Is that still in the pipeline?

Cheers guys, yeah MIke I was looking to get the back of the seats done as well and it is still in the pipeline. Problem is they would have to lift the leather to get them fitted right so thinking about the argon carbon fibre backs or maybe GRP ones finished in a black gloss to go the whole hog. But first finish the Piano Black trim with the Virdee guys and then see :D

Love the black gloss steering wheel section, I've always thought the cheap plastic silver was not right.

Be good to see it when the centre piece is done as well.

Are they resprayed, or new parts ?

We supplied brand new parts for Gareth. And these are piano black lacquered not your normal car paint like some!

That looks awesome....i see the B8.1 S4 guys do this often on their panda interiors. Piano black does look awesome and agree with the steering silver plastic bit

Cracking job

My old R32 had seat backs that where finished in shiny black plastic that was very close to piano black. Should be possible to order spares from VW. It is not a big job removing the seat leathers. Thinking of doing the same with mine once my seats are retrimmed. What colour leather did you go for?

I went with 0104 and 0525 fro this selection of colours in Nappa Leather Coffrey : ) I just need to find the best method for doing the seat backs that will compliment the Piano Black pieces without costing too much.

On my Avus Avant, I have the factory option piano black inserts on the dash and door cards with silver leather (with comfort seats) which compliment each other. IMHO, brushed aluminium trim on light coloured leather does nothing for each other. Good upgrade - looks really good!!!
