I have heard Miltek exhausts and I have to say this car is far superior. Absolutely lovely note of her. I have actually sat in the garage blipping her on occasion just to listen to it. The neighbours love me!
It does help being illegal by having no cats...................................

Also, Millteks vary depending on resonated/non-resonated, full cats, gutted precats, sports cats.
Are you telling me i'll not pass MOT with the car the way it is???

Kind of lucky though, it was only last week someone said it was 6 hours to have the downpipes changed, that way he can't be charged more than that!

Well... they might not charge more than 6hrs but Audi will go in dry, hard and fast for £120per hr +VAT. Do you think your mangina would stand up to that?

£120 an hour goes a long way at an MOT station.

It all comes down to the old "Friendly MOT tester" rubbish and in my experience they are increasingly few and far between and only decreasing afaik.

This has been discussed before and there are some on here that reckon their cars pass the gas tests CAT-free but sorry, I call BS on that as you have to have the car/pipes hot as hell, be running a perfect idle/high idle mix and even then, I still reckon good luck with that......

Definitely. My mate's Scooby with less than 20k miles had to have an Italian tune just before testing to pass emissions and that was a completely stock car!

Audi remove the engine to do downpipes, FACT. My mangina has been tore apart by Audi, they are brutal and unforgiving.

Has there ever been any gearbox work done to the car and if so, when?

What does the number plate mean!?

What was the mileage on the car when you sold it?

Thats all for now. Many thanks for your help!
I had the car for 5 years or so, I think it was on 92k or there abouts when I sold it.
I did quite a few track days and hill climbs in that time, but don't worry it was well cared for by me as you will see from all the paperwork you got with the car, that's if you did?
The gearbox was serviced three times while I owned it.
The number plate S60UAT I thought it looked like S6 quattro?
If your that bothered about the cats, you can have some fitted where the main cats used to be, after the downpipes, so not much of a job..

I notice no comment about how YOU legally got your MOT pass certificates during your ownership ;)

Thanks for the reply Pete!

Im not at all bothered about the CATs, or in deed, the lack of them. It was something highlighted by other forum users, not me! I was unaware however that it would not pass MOT without them. Again, not an issue as I will have the car rectified before the test, if needs be.

I bought the car from a guy in Bradford with 99,980 miles on the clock. I was assured that the car was 100% and 'needed for nothing', however when I received it I realised immediately that the gearbox wasn't as it should be. Within 2 days the car had completely given up and hasn't moved since. After doing some research on here I have found that the guy I bought the car off was as bit of a crook and has a history of dishonest dealings.

For anyone thats interested - http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=101549

All in all, a harsh lesson on buying online without prior inspection but we all live and learn. I just hope that she will be back on the road again before too long.

If it makes you feel better every other problem that C5's suffer from was sorted by me, so once the box is sorted should be 100%.

Yes Pete, I have seen both of those videos before. I was told by Mark Thompson that you did hillclimbs on the weekends in the car and that you had a couple of videos on YouTube. I think the car is a fantastic example of a C5. Once the gearbox is rebuilt she will once again be 100%
