Ah, got it cheers. These guys are worth a look (merityre.co.uk) and will always match a price you find on the internet. Saying that they've always worked out cheapest when I've been buying tyres. The fully inc price for fitting they quote on the GY F1 is £826.04.

I know it's done to death but, just want to check.

Pretty much gonna fit Michelin PSS on the car. Standard size 255/35/19s will be going on the original OEM rims. I have original suspension (which means DRC, right?) and just want to check that these 255 PSS tyres with square rather than round inside shoulder will clear the knobbly bit. Already checked that knobbly bit thread but wasn't clear from it if anyone had similar fit PSSs and ended up with knobble or clear.

Will take the PS2 with R01 designation as I know they'll fit rather than taking expensive risk with PSS unless I hear otherwise from you guys. I really really would like the PSSs on my car but not wanting to go down the road of grinding down the knobble.

Winters are 225/40/18 on 12mm spacers Michelin Alpin A3 - slightly smaller than recommended!!

Summers, Original 5 spoke 19s and leaning towards the Michelins again. Are those Goodyears R01 spec as well?

Just want high speed stability and some decent turn in. The PSSs are 20% dry tyre and 80% wet tyre tread pattern, according to the Michelin website and various reviews, which I kinda buy into and like the idea of.

I regularly maintain a steady 140mph+ on autobahn, need UHP and no knobbles.

No idea about any R01 spec guff as I don't run standard rims/offsets. I run 175/19 and in the warm and wet they are ok when throwing it in to bends as long as you manage the slip. Cold and wet, forget it! Dry dry, bloody lovely, apart from the car wallowing about but that isn't the fault of the tyre.

I don't mince about with 2 sets of wheels. Can't justify the outlay and haven't got the space. The PSS were beyond hilarious in the snow as half expected, my rwd XJR with Avon ZZ3 tyres on put it to shame!

Even if I could run 2 sets of wheels, I honestly think I would go for the Eagles overall, knowing how the PSS behave on this big pig and how the Eagles perform on both the Cupra and the S3. Yes yes lighter cars but the Eagles inspire utter confidence on the S3 in pretty well all conditions. Madam drives the car like a flaming hooligan since I stuck them on there, she is learning a lot of bad habits from me.

Ok, just went to official Michelin website, put the car specs in and got a few recommendations from Michelin which include the PSSs in 255/35/19, even without the R01 designation.

Will give it a go and hope it won't end up disastrously because of elknoblo. Will let you know how it goes.

I once had a missus who was VERY fond of putting the foot down, more so than me, she managed to destroy two engine mounts with her spirited foot-planting..... Think I had Pirellis on, G60 Corrado.

Living in Central Europe, legal requirement here to have winters fitted from Nov 01 to Mar 31 minimum. No requirement to fit summers other than my enjoying the difference they make to roadholding when it gets hot. Winters feel gluey in summer, like they're greasily melting into the road. Summers feel frozen and brittle in winter with no grip worth talking about.
