Gents
neil1003 - I paid £1498.26 and very satisfied, I've also had the Terraclean done for £96
Timester - I went to Revo for a change, this is my 2nd RS4 B7 and I am taking a different approach to mods. I used MRC for my 1st RS4 and they did a great job.

I went for REVO Stage 2 but to be honest was not impressed - mainly down to the lack of functionality - No linear throttle option in non sport mode (when you want to drive normally) and quiet mode start mode. (when revs stay at 1.8-2K for 30 secs right on exhaust resonance - just annoyed me every morning. Unless they have changed their maps in the past 9 months? worth checking..

Sorry to hear that. Mine's fine so far. I'm off to MRC for a Dyno tomorrow late morning, I'll post the map in the evening.

How did it go Covkiller?

Gavla... The reason I dismissed the Revo map was because they looked at me blankly when I asked if they could remove the cold-start. Too.

Decoke pre+post results?
My car ran 399.4PS with a Revo remap pre decoke
I had a decoke and a revised Revo map on Wed17.04.2013 prior to an MRC dyno run on Fri 19.04.2013

Here ‘s my MRC Dyno results

Reading 3 – 425.9PS shows Revo’s map result post decoke
Reading 2 – 434.6PS Doug’s 1st attempt
Reading 1 – 439.5PS Doug’s best result

After Reading 3 Doug said that he could perform a safer map with even more performance. So I asked him to go ahead. Doug spent most of the day on my car, for which I am extremely grateful as the results speak for themselves.

Pre Decoke 399.4PS with Revo remap
Post Decoke 439.5PS with MRC remap

An amazing 40.1PS more

Thank you to Doug and the MRC boys.

Why can't anyone just post a pre and post clean with exactly the same setup??? Loads of people want to see it, but we keep seeing posts with other mods at the same time......

Hi GlenRS If you're referring to my last post please can you point out where you see the additional mods and setup between my pre and post decoke breakdown.

Unfortunately I never had a chance to do the pre clean and after clean 3k - 8k rpm test however I got my car back from MRC yesterday afternoon having had amongst other things, the MRC full carbon clean.

my results were;

pre clean

369.7ps 413nm
371.4ps 415nm

post clean

401.2ps 446nm
401.8ps 447nm

pretty pleased with these results.

this is a TOTALLY standard car (the work I had done was purely maintenance) with 47,000 miles and is run on Shell V-Power (since december when I bought it) BUT my car is retarding the timing and if it wasn't Doug said it would be putting out pretty much the 414 they quote as stock so would be very pleased with that for a standard car.

I'm going to try running it on Tesco Momentum for a few weeks as I always get my v-power from same two stations and I think I need to rule out any fuel issues as everything else is working as it should - no vacuum leaks etc and Doug was a bit mystified as to why its doing what its doing if its running on v-power

I may then run it up to MRC for another dyno session to see if it is a fuel issue or just a mystery which never will be solved lol !

per earlier answer:

Just looked up the dyno results, already had the AmD map, k&n air filter and Milltek fitted 6 months beforehand

Start:

388 bhp and 318.1 lb/ft torque at 3903 rpm

After decoke:

406 bhp and 324.4 lb/ft torque at 3748 rpm

After decoke and vac fix:

431 bhp and 328 lb/ft torque at 5873 rpm

So the decoke along gave me 18 bhp gain.
Current: MK7 Golf R, Lapiz Blue 5 dr
Gone and missed: 2006 Sprint Blue B7 RS4 Avant. Non res valved Milly.
Gone: B6 S4. Noggy BLue. AMD Stage 3 (Milteck Res, Sports Cats, AMD Chip, Piper Cross Air Filter) ECS Drilled/Slotted Rotors, EBC Red Stuff Pads.

Hi Covkiller,

Wasn't aimed specifically at your post, as there has been several calls for people to post up a direct comparison yet we appear to all still be waiting to see one. Even Spikeys post above is after a vac leak has been fixed and so im left wondering just how much difference if any the decoke made :bash:

But yes your post also falls into this, so i'll use it for example:

As you can see this is not comparable as it uses a different map, and I assume a different dyno?

EDIT:

Rather impressed with WillRS post, that's a good gain from just a carbon clean!

Hi GlenRS
Same MRC dyno used for all runs.
Please see Reading 3 for the pre and post results ie:
