Extended warranty issues with miltek?

Post by mrmchammer » Tue Apr 16, 2013 3:36 pm

Hi,

i was just in the process of taking out an extended warranty on my RS4 only to be told that they wont cover it because i have a miltek back box?! anyone else had this? im not expecting them to cover the back box within the warranty but it just seems a little weird?

I think they require the car to be standard.

When starting a policy they can refuse if they want.

During a policy is more a grey area - technically they will word it so that the whole policy is void but this has been provn incorrect at European court levels. They should obviously not cover the part you change and any direct implications of fitting it (ie if the gearbox goes poof! After you fit a supercharger then don't exect any joy).

so in theory i can "remove" the mod and then take out the warranty and then "add" it back on at a later date?

And just to be safe (esp if unsure) when making any claim, refit the standard part!
