Mike's big RS4 modding project
Re: Mike's big RS4 modding project
I reckon black with a flick of silver would look good, just takes the heaviness out of wheel if that makes sense
Re: Mike's big RS4 modding project
That's kind of where I was going. Was thinking maybe anthracite with titanium.Silas wrote:I reckon black with a flick of silver would look good, just takes the heaviness out of wheel if that makes sense
Re: Mike's big RS4 modding project
Yep I reckon that would work
Re: Mike's big RS4 modding project
The only thing stopping me is that they look great on other cars that have been lowered so I might wait and get it lowered and take it from there. I think the lowering might be enough on its own. Once the windows are less blingy though the wheels might stand put too much.
Yes, I think lowering first.

Shame it's not an avant, then it would look the nuts

De ja vu me thinks. I told you Silas, I'm not interested in driving a bus!Silas wrote:Shame it's not an avant, then it would look the nuts
Re: Mike's big RS4 modding project
This turned up on Friday:

It's the beginning of the end!
If my garage wasn't full of a million pieces of wood for the kids climbing frame (and 3 sets of wheels and a compete set of garden furniture amongst other things) then I'd be able to swap them over. It's a shame, it might take me a while to finish building this climbing frame.
LOL, just kidding I want to swap them over so I can start driving the RS to work again. As soon as I can get some decent videos of the current set-up I'll swap the mover and become super quiet. On the bright side, I might be able to hear the stereo a bit better, doubt it'll be quiet enough to hear that Pipercross though.

I've also got this now in the queue of things to install:

Re: Mike's big RS4 modding project
Enjoying this thread!
Re: Mike's big RS4 modding project
I took some in car video clips this morning hoping to capture that exuast noise. I only had a quick listen but there seems to be a lot of wind noise and my tripod rattling. I will try again later (tighten up all parts of the tripod first) then take a look through them all and post any that are worthwhile.
Re: Mike's big RS4 modding project
Thanks, I was wondering whether people were getting bored of reading about it or not.edge wrote:Enjoying this thread!
Re: Mike's big RS4 modding project
Loads of new videos of my exhaust noise posted on a seperate thread for any new audiences. If you havent listened to them already get yourself on over there!

Re: Mike's big RS4 modding project
I forgot to mention before about the R8 coolant cap and oil caps thta I had. I'm sure most of you have seen these before.
PS I know the coolant cap is facing the wrong way, I havent got round to modifying it so it sits at the right angle yet.

And this turned up yesterday:

My expansion tank looks quite filthy in these photos, more than it actually looks in real life, probably due to taking photos in the dakr on a phone! Anyway, dirty coolant tanks are a bug bear of mine so I need to add that to the list of things to change.
After fitting the Revolution carbon air intake the right hand side of the engine bay just looked wrong with that big lump of black plastic so there was only one thing to do. It has been bugging me for ages, but it looks much better now.

Re: Mike's big RS4 modding project
Mike - you need to get some elbow grease on the engine mate! It needs some lurve & polish!
Re: Mike's big RS4 modding project
Yeah, needs a little clean, just waiting for the weather to warm up a bit.
