new tyres
Re: new tyres
Follow Amar's advice.
I'm really happy with PS2 in summer, but they are a bit noisy, so would try Goodyears next time.
Running 18" Nokian winters (Nov - Apr) - brilliant and cheap.
If you want a bit more excitment, follow the big guy with PSS. More grip (dry) and slip (wet/snow)
Or you could be radical and try a wild card and report back!
(Nokian summers look interesting)

Re: new tyres
What Amar said. PS2 or GYF1 Assy 2.
I haven't noticed any improvement in grip in the PSS over the PS2, but admittedly that's on different cars.

Re: new tyres
Have you had the car fully 4 wheel aligned? I do every time I change tyres/have any suspension etc work done/annually on all of our cars.

Wow, every year... Is it really necessary? Are they off too much to justify it?Mr Footlong wrote:Have you had the car fully 4 wheel aligned? I do every time I change tyres/have any suspension etc work done/annually on all of our cars.

Re: new tyres
The way I drive and the fact that I "know a guy" that does it now for £50 and seems to do a good job is why I am a bit anal about aligning. They are always out on the cars but I don't memorize by how much, just file the results in the car folders. Also, at £1200 per set of tyres currently, I want to get as much life from them as possible.

Re: new tyres
Use them in the snow, they aren't too bad. Probably nowhere near as good as winter tyres but still do well.
