You talking about the document wallet? If so then no, not as far as I know. My orignal one was a crappy black number.Trups wrote:is that not a stck item for the RS4 then? i got that with my C6.

Depends on how well the supplying dealer got on with the original purchaser - some owners got it, some didn't.Trups wrote:is that not a stck item for the RS4 then? i got that with my C6.

Re: Mike's big RS4 modding project
No more changes yet, although I have a few bits in the post.
Actually, I removed the spacers from the rear wheels to stop it rubbing, but I think I heard it rub a couple of times still!
Anyway, she had a quick clean today so here's some clean daytime shots:
(Excuse the quality, I used my phone to take the photos)

Looking good Mike.
What did you decide on the window trim? Missing the optics trim I think

Thanks Niils. I'm going for the proper parts. I've got the part numbers and they're fairly cheap, I just need to find a body Shop that I trust to fit them.
Re: Mike's big RS4 modding project
Mike - what rear tints are those i.e are they standard factory tints or not and what % whether factory or aftermarket ?
Currently: C63 AMG 507 Edition Coupe - Polar white
Previously : 997 Turbo - Meteor Grey, Audi B7 RS4 Saloon - Phantom Black, Audi RS3 - Daytona Grey, Abarth 500, MK2 Ford Focus RS, LS3 VXR8, Monaro VXR, MK4 Golf R32, Leon Cupra R, MK1 Cliosport 172, MK3 Golf VR6 Highline

It is the factory tint as far as I'm aware. It was like that when I bought the car and always assumed it came like that.WillRS wrote:Mike - what rear tints are those i.e are they standard factory tints or not and what % whether factory or aftermarket ?
Re: Mike's big RS4 modding project
Ah proper optics trim is the best way, i was just under the impression that they are a nightmare to remove/change, especially the rear quarter trims, aren't the riveted on?MikeFish wrote:Thanks Niils. Re: Mike's big RS4 modding project
They are a nightmare to change. Audi quoted me 8 hours labour and that was through my brother in law so they wouldn't be trying to mug me off.
However, any competant bodyshop should be able to do it, and they will probably charge a lot less than the what the Stealers charge per hour. The annoying thing was that I forgot about this when I applied the sound deadening to my doors. The 2 fronts are completley sealed off now so will probably need some of the deadening removed (see my car audio thread for photos of my doors naked). I was also liking the look of the real carbon wing mirrors (not the covers, the actual shells), but again, need to undo my deadening but more importantly they cost an ridiculous amount and are a pain to change. Maybe one for later in the year. I've also been talking to a carbon fibre company in germany to modify the plastic bits on my steering wheel. Think it might be worth a poke.
Think I'll be ordering a Milltek resonated centre section in a moment. The missus is complaining about the exhaust driving her mad so the easiest thing is to swap the non-resonated centre section for a resonated one. Should be a straight swap as MRC cut the Tubi to match the end of the un-cut Milltek. If it's still too loud then maybe look as exhaust valves. Really need to get a video of it on the move before it is muted! I was hoping to make it to the summer and get to some meets for all to hear, it really is unfeasably loud in the flesh! I wouldnt be able to drive it in the summer with the windows open and the baby in the car though. I revved it on the driveway when the baby was inside the house and it made her cry

Looking good Mike!
Yes agree black optics that trim! Although after this the wing mirrors stand out a bit (if you kept your dark wheels).
I wasn't sure on those new wheels when you posted a few months ago but they are growing on me - the silver wing mirrors work to offset the silver diamond cut edges on the wheel.
Personally I would not carbon the wing mirrors as it probably a step to far and IMO will look naff and considering the price you'd be better off lowering the front. (That's my next step, then brakes)
Still looking good - hope to hear that amazing exhaust in the flesh at some forum meets in the future!
Cheers,
Gav
