Weekly break-ins

Post by kidyamlo » Fri Feb 08, 2013 10:32 am

Any of you guys experienced regular break-ins? Nothing is ever damaged, just a quick rummage then they're off in the early hours. Had the keys re-coded (dealer reckons "kids" - ha - so I guess John Connor is living nearby with his foster parents). Every single week. Surely, if it was the same person every time then they'd have realised by now that I keep *nothing* in the car overnight (although they've overlooked a few pairs of pricey sunglasses on a few occasions). No attempt is ever made to take the keys from the house. How does this happen - any ideas??

I was hoping for advice... but making me laugh is proving to be just as effective. Ya bastards.

On a serious frickin' note - how easy is it to get into B7s? Do people have little devices to read the code when you lock the door, or some such crap?

Thought it was quite hard to get into the B7 and thats why people go for the keys - unless thats just to drive it.

Pop down to Maplins and buy a CCTV camera, one that has lots of infa red diods on it so it glows good and red in the dark. In theory you dont need to buy the recorder as they wont know its not recording

Bet that stops them

Or get a recorder so you can see if it s kids or not, or maybe somebody you know. Ideally you'd want the camera hidden so they don't know you're filming them. Also, there was a thread on here recently about in car cameras and the one recommended will start to record if there is a schock / vibration to the car. You can them see them close up. Might even be able to help police catch them and convict them.

Thanks all. Any idea if the thread is still here - can't seem to locate. Was thinking about "Smile, you're on camera" on a laminated sheet on the driver's seat :-)
