And you also know that any infant morality type failures would have been and gone and covered under warranty on a higher mileage car. This car is not even run in yet, there could be a whole host of issues that haven't reared their heads yet but won't be covered under warranty anymore.rs4Mav wrote:A few years ago now i bought a Impreza WR1 with only 2400 miles, it been dried stored for two and a half years.
For the first six months i had nothing but trouble with the brakes not bedding in properly due to the service rust on the discs wearing out the pads, before the pads could clean of the rust giving full contact of the pad to the disc. Everything else was on the car was as new.
Due to the limited service history, even though it had not been used, i had no warranty what so ever from Subaru, i would certainly think twice again before paying top money for a car that has not been used, i am sure you are better off with one of higher mileage with history and well looked after .

Dave I think we can safely assume that with 3200 miles on the clock that the car has been the owners fifth car and have been driven once a month over the last 6.5 years, rather than doing 1 mile per day, each and every day....PetrolDave wrote:There is a school of thought that says a car that's done that low mileage could be a worse buy than a high mileage one - as the engine, transmission, oil, water, brakes, etc. will probably never have got up to temperature as it will only have been driven on short runs and hence never properly warmed up.Ian_C wrote:Rare to find a low miler thats actually been serviced properly. 3200 miles, FOUR stamps!!

Agree with all that has been said above. An average mileage car with detailed history and all service campaign's done has to be better value than this.
Ridiculous speculative price.
Dry stored with delivery mileage is a very different proposition than 3K over 6.5 years and no warranty.

That's just as bad, as it would only have done 40 miles each time it was used, so nothing would get fully warm even if that were the usage pattern.Ian_C wrote:have been driven once a month over the last 6.5 years
To echo what has been said above, in my experience Audi engines need over 10k miles to fully run-in (all of mine have improved noticeably after both 5k miles and 10k miles).
