If you click on view your posts, then select this topic then click edit you should be able to amend the title.

Ok guys and girls, quick update. The engine has arrived after only 4 working days and is now on its way into my engine bay. A quick email to the dealer this afternoon has confirmed that everything from block, heads and all internals are to be replaced as my old engine is so badly damaged. The dealer has confirmed that they still don't know the cause of failure due to the extent of the damage. Managed to get a pic......

Ask them if it's been run in on the bench :-)

A couple of friends have said to me 2nite that it should already be run in...... I don't think it will be but a surprise visit to the dealers on Monday should confirm things ......

Great news Martin. Shame you won't get to enjoy the new engine.

I wonder how many 'full' engines Audi have stored away??

I was really hoping to find out the cause of failure, especially with all the technology nowadays. Surprised they couldn't give me a definitive answer but utmost respect for them honouring their warranty and seemingly completing it in such a fast time after the initial setbacks.

If you are getting rid, why didn't you just ask for your money back?

I could've gone that route, but might not have got the outcome I wanted. This way was the simplest option under the circumstances.
