I want one!!

Post by ChrisO » Sat Jan 26, 2013 9:42 am

Good afternoon everyone, my name's Chris and I'm a sparkly new member! :bigwave:

I've been lurking for a few days now, just nosing around and reading up on whats what (ALOT of looking up). I'm 26 and have been driving Audis since I was about 19. I sold my pride and joy (2.0T B7) a few years ago and vowed I'd get back into the hot seat when I could.

Recently I discovered that the RS4 had fallen into my price range, and now I'm OBSESSED! :blackrs4:

In the space of a few days I've decided that no other car will do and I have to have one! I've been looking at the classifieds section on here and would have snapped up a phantom black one from Nick(?) Only problem is, I can't buy untill mid to end April, because I'm in Afghanistan

Rest assured that once I'm back home it wont take me long to purchase one of these beasts! I look forward to speaking to you all, and picking your brains as & when it breaks!

Welcome and FON. You've come to the right place. There's a lot you can learn by reading the past topics and the buyer's guide. Hunt around and now and then potential owners have posted links to cars that they're thinking of buying - you can read other member's critiques. The best thing you can do is familiarise yourself with how the search works: you will learn loads once you are adept at reading historical posts. That said, don't be afraid to ask stuff - we're a friendly bunch.

Ahhhh my first FON - sweeeeet! I've literally just read the rules, they made me laugh! I can't wait to get back and start test driving. I'm looking to spend between 16 - 18.5k so that should get me something fair.

Really? - you might end up rethinking your budget when you see what £16k gets you!

Good luck with the search though, and here's your 2nd FON - cheers

You don't want something fair IMO, with a b7 it needs to be spot or you could be looking at peace of <beep>

The initial outlay is only part of the cost. Buy a shed and your in for a lot of money. Do your homework properly on the costs. 18.5k might get you the car, running it properly is another matter.

Well to be honest I'm viewing Nicks RS4 tomorrow and he is selling it for £16500 - does that mean I should be weiry of his car!

I think sometimes you might get a good deal but who am I to say I'm not long a new forum member myself. There are plenty more experienced people on here than me.

Yer I've been looking at running costs, they scare me a bit! I'm quite lucky in fact that I'm a mechanic, so a bit of the financial burden in the form of labour is not a factor

Welcome mate from a fellow forces man, plenty of good advice on here, just take your time when you come and post on here he ones you thnk you like.

Avoid auto prestige in Bradford at all costs mate, cowboys!!!

It's the best car I've ever had and also might be back in one soon as the TTS I've got is good but not RS4 good!!

Keep your head down and come back safe!

Hopefully. I'm RAF and Army are looking at taking job back I am going out to do so it's in balance now.

On the RS4 front let me think. Mint condition car - £16500 (should be more but he needs to sell it) I might just have it tomorrow after test drive. It's an absolute bargain.

Nick had looked after that car impeccably.
