Froont end accident , will C6 front end fit ?

Post by ahoooga » Fri Jan 18, 2013 6:05 pm

Ive had the pleasure of smacking a suzuki jeep up the back end today . I have no shame or embarrassment about doing it, as the stupid f*$£"! in the suzuki decided to stop in the middle lane of a 3 lane ring road as they was lost !!! %mph impact, but enough to kill the bonnet, front spoiler/bumper, headlight bracket ect ect.
Close inspection appears to show the bonnet and front bumper/spoiler took most of the impact.

I'm trying to find out a parts cost on the bonnet and spoiler, but had this idea about changing the front for a c6 bonnet/bumper head lights ect . I'm wondering if anyone else has done the same in the past or if its even possible.
Been to see a mate who has a acc repair centre, who told me a fellow with an S3 did the same recently.

Been unable to get prices for parts as of yet , so undecided whether to go through the insurance or not atm

The c6 is totally different to the c5 ..

Sh1te luck on the bump, but the question you asked :bash:
Someone posted a picture on here of a c5 with c6 front end, looked worse than yours probably does now!

Bad luck on the tip....

Eh, there's a video on YouTube of somebody, somewhere, Romania or Poland I think, grafting C6 front end on C5 (and it may unfortunately have been an RS), I'll see if I can find it. The end result can not be described as pretty....

Think they may ha bespoilered it too though.

Looks like a lot of work........ Which you'll have to do anyway after any tip I suppose.

Here you go - actually a Spanish effort it seems and mercifully not an RS.

The YouTube link revolvo posted didnt look 'to' bad , not overly keen on the one in the pictures mavada posted though , I think the older headlight style let it down a little, but 10/10 for effort to both owners.
Its down to personal choice i guess whether you like or hate it. Ph9oned a few mates tonight and census of opinion is it will be to much work compared with just fitting replacement C5 parts.
Mate got me prices for C5 parts from an Audi dealer , bumper £668 bonnet £596 , middle lower grill £122 , so I'm into £1400 just for parts !!!! all for a 5mph ( five) impact
Theres going to be £300 of labour and painting , so do i pay the excess and just let the insurance pay the rest and kop one up the ar*& at renewel, or pay the full £12- 1600+ myself ?
Lifes a bitch and then you buy an Audi :boohoo:

Someone in classifieds here posted a bonnet for sale today i think. Also spotted a bumper on UK Ebay during week, slightly cracked i think but looked acceptable. See if i can find link for you.

How about shizuki driver, did he admit any responsibility? You don't stop in the middle line, mid traffic, because you're lost. Sensible maneuver is to pull over and then stop.
As for financing the repair job, all depends how much would your premium go up. Any guess?

The c6 front end is actually a readily available bodykit from over the pond and not a bespoke effort by an individual..gives the car an uncanny resemblance to the proboscis monkey

i know its not right ...but the blue one could just about pass as acceptable

i believe sourcing an rs6 front bumper for the c5 is almost impossible and mega money sady, good luck with getting it sorted bad times
