BUYING ADVISE NEEDED!!!!!

Post by chunkymonkey » Sun Jan 13, 2013 11:08 pm

I have just hopefully sold my b7 avant (depo taken) and am looking for a rs6 avant, I have seen a nice one but it has half leather and alacantra which I can live with but my only worry is will it effect resale if you know what I mean ( i personally would preference full leather) also is there any other options that i should be looking for or any problems to be aware of. Any input/ advise would be greatly recived

* check front wheel bearings have been done

Other than that .. they are pretty solid

Re your Q - your considering it with 1/2 leather, so other will in the future too. However if full leather is on your shopping list, look at some others, They are "rare" but some good examples are around such as Ollys

As many options as you can get for the money
The problem is finding one
Paul1 had one for sale I missed out on waiting for mine to sell - my fault I should have put mine up sooner.
Not many low mileage ones for sale at the moment
Forum cars would be well cared for examples and Ollys is prob the best on the market at present.

The right car will turn up, March and the new reg might see some come through and prices may start to drop under £30k , which is worth considering.

Best advice though is don't flap and rush into buying a car which you know in you heart you don't want.
Good luck mate

Thanks Guys - my car is nice although it currently needs a wash....

Due for MOT this Friday - will put six months tax on too, and will probably purchase another year's audi warranty (all component with Mondial) for £1050 (with £100 excess). I've got until mid feb before my current insurance expires, so if with that lot it doesn't shift by then.....

When I ordered mine I opted for the leather / alcantara option and am quite happy with it. Not as warm in the summer or cold in the winter, you don't slide and it is more resistant than leather (no creases over time or scratches from eg pants with back pocket metal buttons).

Thanks to all of you for your input and advise I am going to have a look at a 1 owner sepang blue avant with 58000 mls which I could own for £28500 that's if it all checks out ok and is as well looked after as he says it is as blue is my preference colour but if not I would have to give serious thought to olly's as ibis is another colour I would own and in fairness to him it looks like a nice car, just a long way to go as I am in wales but may be a pm coming your way soon olly

+1

But you know what they say.... sometimes things are cheap for a reason. IMO, 28.5k is too cheap/ bargain for a proper RS6 so do check it out properly Chunkymonkey. Also is it a forum member's car?.

If its got warranty and has been serviced regularly, then nothing to worry about.
