Holy cow! Any idea on power?

Any plans to bring it to the RS4 or is there a lack of space for it under the bonnet?

There is no space on the rs4 for twin superchargers, or better cooling

There are 2 chargers on the R8 so has the potential to flow twice as much airflow throughout the revs, as the supercharged RS4, and it has a massive charge cooler. Still under development so no numbers to publish yet.

Hehe this will be interesting to see. With the TTRS running 2.8 0-62 on the APR stage 3, the R8 was going to need an upgrade or two.........:D

Given the price of a single TTS RS4 installation, would this mean that strapping 2 on an R8 will be the better part of £30k?

Because the inlet manifold flows so well on a R8, the last thing you want to do is change the inlet manifold. So no redesign of that or maching costs. There are 2 chargers but the estimated cost should not be considerably more than rs4, certainly not anywhere near twice.

Out of curiosity why the twin chargers?
I know Koenigsegg use two on the CCX but looking at some pics it appears to be more for packaging that performance.

2 chargers to flow more air to make more torque lower down.

The largest supercharged rotrex is the C38-91 which flows enough air for 600bhp.

But becasue it is centrifugal charger you do not get high boost at mid revs, like a turbo.

If you have 2 chargers - you can flow twice as much air throughtout the revs.

So we can get more torque but keep the linear delivery, have more airflow than turbos at low revs (when they are off boost). We are limiting airflow at high revs on stock engines.

With a lot of the smaller hot hatches using a supercharger and a turbocharger in conjunction over the rev range was that something you guys considered and dismissed Doug?

Ah forgot about the centrifugal aspect.
So you're effectively over spec'ing the chargers then controlling the boost by bleeding off unwanted air in much the same way as a turbo boost controller would.

Holy cow - if you get that right (and aboslutely no doubting you can't) then thats going to be like a hammer with an incredible and flat linear torque curve and great throttle response...
