good thinking on the mirrors, need to investigate.

not sure what the bulbs are as not had to replace one yet, there is a thread elsewhere regarding upgrades, think Revolution sells them.

TONY: when you hear back from these allpartssouthwest, could you post up your findings. cheers.

FOR INFO: took apart my faulty one to see if I could get to levelling motor - what a job! and I still couldn't get the little sod out!

Will be posting pics out of interest, but in essence if the levelling motor goes, get a new headlight.

The adapative motor could easily be changed but not sure on availablity.

May do mine as well :)

See that they also do wing Mirrors - wonder if they can get the RS4 ones as mine are starting to peel a bit on the mounting.

Does anyone know what bulbds the RS4 takes for the Xenons and also the DLR, Fogs and Side Lights ?

I got a call back from them earlier and I've ordered a pair of the non-AFS Xenon headlights. They should be with me Weds or Thurs so I'll post back once they're here with some photos etc.

Just had to order a TT 225 xenon, £780 + VAT from Audi
Under £500 from these guys, however Euro Car Parts trade price was cheaper as there was no delivery on top and got same day.

Eurocarparts don't have 8E0 941 029 BN / 8E0 941 030 BN though.

Ok, headlights arrived today. Photos below (taken with phone, so not great). They're definitely genuine OEM parts, identical to my current lights apart from sticker on top which has audi rings on it.

Gonna fit them at the weekend, will do some cleaning and hammerite for oil cooler pipes too while bumper's off.

Sorry, I missed a photo off- added now. Yeah, came with all the bulbs except the xenon/ballast/ignitor stuff. I'm gonna swap the xenon bits, PIAAs and chrome indicators from the old ones. I reckon I can sell my old ones on ebay for about half what I paid for these!!

That is a good price fellas..am I write in thinking if you just have xenons, you can buy the adaptive type instead and it would be plug and play so to speak?

Hi Scaghead,

I was thinking the same too (I do have adaptive), but i think (not sure) the controllers my be different.

I (think) the ballast for the xenon bulb under the headlights are also the control units for the headlight functions (but not sure) my reasoning is when I dis-assembled my headlight, all the wires inside the headlight goto this unit.

Someone my be able to confirm.

The reason I say that is my xenons still move up and down on start up,just don't do the side to side bit..so my logic is(probably wrong) that the motor controlling the headlights is there and it is something in the unit on the headlight itself that gets the motor to do the adaptive bit...

I think all xenon headlights have to be auto levelling so they all have up/down motors.

Don't you need some kind of sensor for steering position?

Already has one as standard - it's part of the stability control system to work out actual car yaw v's desired steering input and adjust accordingly.

I completely dismantled mine to try and get to the levelling motor, mine has adapative, there is 2 motors (1xadaptive and 1xlevelling).

Will post pics up for reference tonight.
