Amanda, are you going to fit a new trans cooler to try and help reduce cross contamination? I think with all the work and money being spent it would be worthwhile.

Don't think you need to change the cooler - but it does need a really high pressure/velocity flush to make sure the old crud is out of it.

I can prob understand why you want to use the ace one based on the recommendation from the usa. Suppose its mitigating risk, if you put the ace one in would andre be happy to have a look at the tc if it went?

Use the 517 one, that way it's all sealed and warrantied together. Come any problems 517 do not have a get out clause.

I'm not holding my breath that they'll do any differently than what a number of gearbox specialists can do in the UK, but fair play for buying an unknown gearbox unseen from another country and have it refurbed and upgraded. Braver than me.

Agreed, claims of "bulletproof" just come across as frankly ridiculous to me. Thats one helluva claim and if they are saying you can throw as much torque as you want down our gearbox ( no gag intended bam, and pardon the pun) and if it goes pop come back to us for a free one, then I`m their next customer. I somehow dont think they are saying this or offering it even...

Proof is in the pudding though shop, its like warranty providers who promise you the earth but deliver a kick to the nackers, I`m sure at the prices they are charging, their parts are uprated and stronger then OEM, but for it to be called a solution, they have to be able to provide some form of aftersales support at their own expense should things go pete tong with their product. Do they do this because there is no mention of this on their website

Oh yeah, I'm not a fan of this 'bulletproof' malarkey, I'm way more endeared to 'bombproof'. It's far too easy for someone to take a potshot with a low calibre peashooter, missing all vital organs, only producing a graze or a flesh wound. It's generally at this point an American salesman will step out from behind the sandbags and smugly burble "See, my man here is 'bulletproof'! He's never used a spanner in his life but he's now going to rebuild your gearbox with our 'bulletproof' parts, ergo, your gearbox will take on all properties of 'bulletproofness' (registered trademark of "Bulletproof Trans R Us Inc.") and believe me, a 'bulletproof' gearbox is what you need out on those war-torn roads". *The salesman smiles producing a lens flare from his whiter than white teeth*

Pah, what you need is bombproofed! Ordell Robbie got it wrong when he said: "AK-47. The very best there is. When you absolutely, positively got to kill every motherfcuker in the room, accept no substitutes."
Errrm, if you need a gun that'll kill everyone in a room, my advice, use a bomb. Ain't no one walkin' away fully functional after some activated bomb lovin'.

Bombproof is where it's at people.

Footnote: bulletproof and bombproof are just words. Attaching these words to inanimate objects doesn't ensure they will take on their namesake. Get a grip.

Who in their right minds believes the association of the word bulletproof with an inanimate object such as a gearbox means you can shove an AK47 up its khyber and let off a couple of rounds and it wouldnt even have so much as a hair out of place...give me strength.

You, I and the watching world knows exactly what they are intimating by describing their gearboxes as bulletproof. If anyone isthinking batfink is going to pop out of the torque converter and utter those immortal lines then they need more then grip getting...
