Yeah, that's the weird thing. Everything mechanically looked fine. I'm wondering if there's a problem with a level sender.

Could possibly be. Don't really know much about how the self adjusting works on these. I'm sure someone on here will know if you can test them with Vagcom.

Do a VCDS Basicsettings reset.
Headlight aim should rise and drop again.
If it doesnt, ur motors need replacing or your suspension sensors are stuck.

It cycles the motors when you start the engine with the lights on. Haven't put the Vagcom on it yet, but I know what it'll tell me - nothing wrong. Not doing a basic settings until I've got the car in front of an aim checker or I definitely will screw up the aim.

I have had two new headlights fitted last week and noticed that one of them was flopping about. I saw that the beam would rattle and kick up far too much so I opened it up to have a look this weekend.

It would appear the reflector unit is not secured at the base unlike the other side or the old ones I have. It moved when you start them but appears to bounce off the lowest setting. Will have to get it replaced under warranty unless something just needs snapping back.

There's like a swivel ball joint that it should pop into. Looks like it's come out / was never in / broke.

You might be able to pop it back in but on units this expensive & fragile I would just want a new one if they are under warranty.

Thanks Shop, I might just get a new one. If I smash the reflector that won't be covered.
