More interesting as in "Am I going to hit that tree or not"? Don't get me wrong, I love RWD, only properly hairy chest-wigged men can drive them properly imo.

Yeah, I'm a bit nervous about that bit. Quattro has made me soft. I had a few hairy moments in my old M3. Still, that's the point of the exercise. Learn how to drive it properly on a track.

Make sure you leave room for the snow shovel in the boot or fit forward-facing flamethrowers. Sigh, I miss the Jag, MR2 Tubby and the Eunos.

An E46 M3 and C5 RS 6, I'm so jealous.

Manual, Coupe, Black with black interior, Harman Kardon.

Yeah, I won't be using it much in the snow. Got a Rangey for that. :)

You big girl. You have to give it a go at least just to enjoy the walk home to grab the Range to tow it back. I did once manage to get the Jag stuck. Was on sheet ice in a car park in the woods on a Christmas day dog walk after sliding/spinning my wheels all over the shop scaring the passengers as much as possible on the way there.

My parents flagged another driver down who has ice ramp-like things and I got the arse about this but used them. Brought the car to a stop just to make a point, said thanks to the guy and sent him on his way, then proceeded to get stuck again. Made sure that the guy that helped had totally gone then a whole lot tyre burning later and I got back on track ;)

Don't get me wrong, I love driving in the snow. Last year in Canada I drove my rental around for 4 hours on the ice and snow just for the hell of it. And that was on summer tyres - might explain why I ended up bending the suspension on it litterally 100ft from parking it up after my fun.

All cars are fun in the snow. Just not if you actually have to get anywhere.

Nice choice.
And front engine rwd is usually pretty easy to catch - you get telegraphed before it's going to let go.
Just remember things quattro would have made you lazy about such as lift off oversteer ;)

Damn right. A couple of years back it hoofed it down with snow near me. 5 hours of driving around in the missus peugeot 206 (super skinny tyres) round the country roads and we got to our destination. Was a tadge scary as my missus was 3 months preggo and our cat was in the back fast asleep. I'd have taken my fiat coupe but it was too low at the front and acted like a snowplow.

Good choice on the M3. I'm always undecided on them though, its the rattly/tinny noise that you get from the exhaust.

When you picking it up, Shop? Any mods planned?

I like the raspy sound of the M in-line 6. Very distinctive and presses buttons in the primordial part of the cortex.

Amar, I should be picking it up before the end of the year, subject to positive outcome from inspection, etc.

No mods planned. The only thing I would do if I turned out to use it seriously on the track would be to strip it out and put a roll cage in, but I've justified the purchase as a run-around car, too, so I'd better wait for a bit before I do that.
