How long should brake disks last?

It is and I changed the front pads each time the dics where changed. FWIW, the pads generally had a third left in them when the discs where changed.

what pads are you using that wear the rotor out before the pads!?
I've never heard of that before

Hi Mate - get a quote from Audi Belfast and use that to haggle with the Dublin guys on price, you will still cry though. I have found its better to get a few things done with them at the same time.

I had the inlet valves cleaned by the guys a month ago - fooking flying since. Not a bad price at all compred to UK too.

I bought the discs from the audi dealer Klauster sorted out for a group buy. Although the group buy was finished they still did a good deal then I got my local independant to fit the discs and pads for £50.
I've forgotten then name of the Audi dealer but it'll come to me in a moment (or somewone will remond me). you can buy online from their website. Or just look up the group buy for discs started by Klauster.

@Jack, how you manage to get them to clean her? Seeing about getting the disks/pads myself and then having my independant fit them.

Edge - they now offer inlet valve cleaning as a service, they do an oil and filter change at the same time.

Does it compare in price to UK prices?

Still a trip to MRC was always the plan

Even ignoring the ferry/fuel cost its cheaper in Dublin. Turning on man maths mode, a trip to MRC is always worth it esp if getting other stuff done .

Big time, I actually never planed for the clean until I got to MRC....but very glad I got it done!

Ill have to make the Jan C&C, away with work for the Dec one!

Depends on driving style, just ask Tim, his discs will most likely last the lifetime of the car
