Yeah, I looked recently, also. They seem to no longer be stocked. I have found a couple of other German sites with them at similar prices, but they always show "no stock - contact us for info" which I assume means that they can't get any.

Hopefully just the one dud. I'd like to know the precise specification of them to be certain if they sleep or have a pressure activation etc.

Unlikely to just be one without the others following shortly afterwards. Depends how much you mind doing one wheel at a time. Have you checked the remaining battery life with the Vagcom? I don't think there is any pressure activation. I am 99% sure. I suspect they have a low power mode when not being interrogated by the control unit so have a reasonably long shelf life.

Are the sensors clever enough to know which corner they are on if the tyres have been switched around?

FL 11 months
FR 11 months
RL 13 months
RR 9 months

I have found a second fault for the other front now. I think I am due all four, it is a pain because they have died just as I put them on for the winter season. Would have been nice to sync this with a refurbishment.

Irritating :( It's always the way. Maybe live with it through the winter?

Might do, they seem to register the pressure correctly still.

Did you start getting warning on the DIS? I can't remember the exact failure mode of mine. I think it started beeping occasionally with the TPMS light coming on and saying F/R. Then it would do it every time I started the car. Went from working to beeping every start in quite a short lapse of time.

I had the amber flat tyre and ! appear. It doesn't light up on every trip so must be borderline on the voltage, what ever that level is.

Yeah, some cars have completely retarded systems. I like this system, it's well thought out. Don't like the price, though...

Shame you cannot upgrade the battery, must just be some lithium one. Still potential life savers.
