I had the mic velcro'd / hanging from the mirror, it had to go. I get on fine with the SDS but I have a different steering wheel now with a proper SDS button, pics soon.

Bilko, we NEED that photo in our lives! Have you taken a gamble on the dual stage airbag "will it go off or not, let's crash and see!" scenario or have you got a guaranteed deployment setup?

I have been offered a V10 RS6 steering wheel but I can't take the gamble on the airbag thing really, don't even know if it would fit.

The SDS is quite cool, especially if you were a Knight Rider fan. I had it on my 335D and tried it on a D2 A8 recently too.

I had it installed by Gareth at Hazzy Dayz so all work is guaranteed. Tried to do it myself but you have to use a B7 steering wheel controller which needs to be coded correctly before fitting. It took Gareth and co about 5 hours to do as they make up a custom loom etc.

Thanks. Which wheel did you go with though? Square-bottomed dual stage airbag job with paddles, a la C6 RS6/TTRS? That is what I am going to jump to if anything. Are Hazzy Dayz guaranteeing that the the airbag(s) will deploy correctly regardless of impact pressure? Sorry for all of the questions but I am working out what to modify with next month's pay. Thanks.

Like Shop i liked the old standard mfsw but found i would sometimes hit the tip buttons by mistake. I love this wheel but it takes a bit of getting used to the flat bottom, probably in my mind but it feels like it changes gear quicker now.

Sadly the whole thing. It is too in your face and bulky for me.

Thanks Bilko. I would be looking at the perforated leather version of that and ideally, I would want to get in in advance so I could try to take the chrome parts off and get the colours changed to either very dark or a similar brushed chrome effect (although, I had lots of success with companies sorting that before, not).

The only question remains, to splat face all over the steering wheel or not to splat face all over the steering wheel in the event of an oopsie......

Think you are too tall for a face plant to the wheel, no? Getting the wheel trimmed in perforated leather would only be around £140 I think. I prefer solid so it doesn't get full of dead skin/ dry jizz
