Buttsecks, only 'you' could ruin an innocuous thread about music. Even 'I' couldn't manage that, well done, you've become the new bam_bam.

You guys refer to rule 1 rule 2 rule 37...rule whatever...I'm pretty sure most haven't a clue where these rules are posted or who made them up...I've worked out that rule 1 must be to make any newbie poster feel as unwelcome as possible because you all tell them to Fu*k off...??

So what you've worked out is THE only interpretation?
Do you know what hazing is? Have you heard of a rite of passage? Have you ever been initiated? Once completed, once you know what FON means, you're in and you're part of the forum.
It's the great leveler, even if Walter Rohrl joined the forum he'd still have to 'endure' the bare facts that on his very first post, he'd be a newbie. I mean, no matter how experienced and knowledgeable someone happens to be, they can't ignore the fact that they had to join at post count=1. For some, that may be the ONLY time anyone gets to call Walter Rohrl a newbie. This process forces a humbleness onto the new forum user so they either 'get it' OR they turn aggressive and show true colours. I think it's very subtle on here, another forum where I'm a member, a new user will receive 6 pages of FONs and NOTHING else. It wouldn't matter if their very first post cured cancer, it'd still be 6 pages of FON as a reply.
Do you 'get' rule 2 now? If you don't, go and email PhilT, I think he 'got it', he's the one that made an auto link on FON. You do make a valid point though, again, go and take it up with PhilT.
No matter where you go, there you are.

I've got the same cradle for the Note - I just can't think where to put it! Great gadget.

I'm tempted to go for the Note II now…

Anyway - back to this enjoyable thread on driving tunes!
