Transmission Program
Re: Transmission Program
The MRC map won't do that, in tiptro, you'd have to depress the kickdown for the MRC GB map to be overriden.
No matter where you go, there you are.

^^That was as clear as syphilitic discharge.

Re: Transmission Program
Might be clear for all I know. Doc? What's the answer?
Seriously, though, if I read you right you are saying that in tiptro the box *will* change down if you mash the pedal?

Re: Transmission Program
Correct, you have to go past kickdown otherwise it'll hold a tall gear at WOT.
No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: Transmission Program
So basically doing exactly what the Viper one does. That would be no good to me.

Re: Transmission Program
Why, do you have a club foot? I've never had it kickdown unless I wanted it to. It's not a hair-trigger, you really have to engage the 2nd step for it to kick. I've logged it, I got WOT.Shoppinit wrote:So basically doing exactly what the Viper one does. That would be no good to me.

Re: Transmission Program
My mrc map doesn't do that. 5th gear 30mph foot to the floor and it will stay in 5th

Re: Transmission Program
Viper has a new map that will get rid of the kick down ...

Re: Transmission Program
Bam, you are right. WOT and 100% accel position are achieved before kick-down. At least with engine off. I may log with engine on at some point just to make sure.
I still prefer no kick-down, though. I don't want to be thinking about exactly how much pressure I am applying with my club foot in the midst of the action.

Re: Transmission Program
Re mrc and viper map, you must be able to ask for either or. Much prefer making the decisions myself rather than the tcu!

Re: Transmission Program
Like I said, never has it kicked down in tiptro unless I wanted it too. Each to their own though.
No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: Transmission Program
So I just tried it on the way home from the gym; 5th @ 30MPH then shoved my foot through the kick down, the gearbox promptly swapped from 5th to 1st (surprisingly smooth too), broke traction, spun up for a second, then snapped my neck as it gripped and ripped. It might be worth noting that I'm running a stage 2 TCU map but I don't think that matters.
No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: Transmission Program
Snapped your neck? You need to work on those muscles next session then.
I will test my car later when i take it in to work to do the arbs but i have a feeling it kicks down.
