Kerb Damaged - Tyre Choice
Kerb Damaged - Tyre Choice
Had my car now for 3 months and the kerbs are like magnets i cant seem to avoid them.
The worst places are muti storey car parks and drive thro's
Im running standard spec tyres at the mo with spacers from virdee 8mm F + 10mm R
When it comes to changing tyres are there any alternatives with better rim protection available ??
Or increase the tyre width from 255 ???

I just put on some Goodyear Asymmetric 2s and the rim protector is massive.
From the rear, it makes the tyres actually look 15mm wider too

Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

Michelin PS2's have a slight 'lip' which seems to protect the alloy - although saying that I avoid kerbs massively!
I run 10mm front spacers and 15mm rears as well.

Re: Kerb Damaged - Tyre Choice
With the goodyears being slightly wider in profile i guess rubbing could be an issue with 8 & 10mm spacers ??
My Michelins hardly do the job the rubbing strip rips right off even if it so much as looks at a kerb
I just stay well clear at the moment

Re: Kerb Damaged - Tyre Choice
nope, they are illegal here.
I'd like to run a set to give it more stance on the outside, but its marginal if it would improve the appearance.
My big issue is if I have an accident, technically the insurance company could reject a claim if I had them installed.
Tricky decision

If you can live with them www.alloygator.co.uk
I think I posted a pic on here of them installed on my wife's car which had 19" RS4 style alloys.

Has anyone got any pics of their motor with 275's on
Would be interesting to see the stance from the rear with them bad boys
